Sandro Mamukelashvili is basically a 6'11" point guard. He could be a good pick at 45.

OMG!
How is this dude not going in the first round?
That would be due to his wild inconsistency. Inefficient from both 2 and 3 for someone his size, bad at rebounding and defence and very turnover prone. When he's on he looks gold, but he's too inconsistent to be a FRP.

Good low-end starter potential though
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I've wondered the same thing. He looks like a young Boris Diaw, who I think would be perfect for this team.

Out of all the bigs in the class he might be the best suited to mimic Al Horfords role in offense.

Pretty bad on defense. What is a young Joe Ingles without the pull-up and with Gallinari's defensive instincts and body? What is James Johnson without the elite athleticism?

Frankly, he's probably more Dragan Bender than anything.

Or, and I think I've got it with this comparison -- Josh McRoberts, but worse on defense.

His PER is 20.2 17.5 PTS 7.6RB 3.2 AST 33% from 3 has a really good handle and passing. Defense is a weakness but he can probably run a second unit as a 6-11 point guard. At 45 I think he's a solid pick.

I'm with you. None of what I said was a knock. I'd love it if we got him. I'm just forecasting a realistic projection of what he would be as a role player.

Yeah, we agree, at 45 if you could get a functional but flawed role player it's a good pick. I like a lot of guys at 45. Some have higher ceilings but there are a lot of functional role players. Mamukelashvili can be a third point guard off the bench.

Mmmmm Livers and Pons sound delicious! There is some really solid talent at 45 either way. Pons is an athletic freak but really raw.

I'm not huge on Pons. Freak athlete but no real game-sense, and has no offensive ability of note. Our bench doesn't need another Semi

Man, Grimes looks like a mash up of Jamal Murray and Desmond Banes. See mocks have him mid-second round!

C's should really be trying to flip Edwards and a future second for a second this draft.

Grimes did look a lot like Murray in the Draft games.

I agree that Pons is a massive project. I think we need skill players over freak athletes.

One of my early draft binkies this year was Marcus Garrett who might well go undrafted but i's nice to see someone mention his name.

In general I agree with your Pons take but in that this teams needs more balanced basketball players coming off the bench. What keeps endearing me to the Pons at #45 idea is his unique combination of length, explosiveness, and timing on defense. Watching Pons play he stands out for his explosiveness if he can be coached up into a 3-D role and made into a better perimeter defender he could be a real weapon off the bench in the playoffs.

I admit that I would find it hard to pass on a safer pick like Grimes at #45 but I can absolutely see a good team drafting him as a project in the first half of the second round.

I think Pons won't be ready to play for at least a year if not two or three. He's a project. I would take Wieskamp, Grimes, Kessler Edwards, Tre Mann, Christopher, Queta,  Maker, Jokubaitis, Duke, and maybe Marcus Garrett over Pons. Pons is the kind of guy I would've liked 5 or 6 years ago.

Neemias Queta is an absolute physical freak. he is raw in aspects of the game but his defense and passing are really good and he can really get up the floor as an absolutely huge. If the Celtics are moving one or two of their centers he's a no brainer at 45. He really needs that 12-foot jump shot to be money. He'll be better in a much more limited role.

I like him but don’t expect him to be around at 45.  He had a great draft combine that should help elevate him.

Joshua Primo would be an interesting prospect at 45 if he stays in the draft.  He’s super young — would still be 18 for the 1st two months of the season — but he flashed some nice skills at the combine.  He should be in Maine for the entire season as the 15th man on the roster, not taxiing back and forth, but the long-term development could be worth it.

I think he goes at the end of the first round but this is a crazy deep draft and some guys are going to fall. I think Queta is a draft riser.
