Larry didn’t like it.  He’s coming out of retirement to put up 54.

Larry would be grumpy, two major Celtics records tumbled today

- Tatum became the youngest Celtic to score 50

- Smart jumped Bird in all-time 3 pointers made

Smart's record is a dubious honor at best. If he wasn't such a dumb player, he wouldn't be near any 3-point records because he wouldn't be jacking up so many bad shots, but instead would play within his limits.

Ray Allen stood out on the list of all time Celtics 3's for me.  He only played 4 season here right?  Shows the crazy volume and efficiency change.  And Ray would probably take even more in this era.

Tatum is #10 already, and should be up to 7 by the end of the year.

5 seasons for Allen.  798 made total. He made 2.2 a game on 5.4 attempts for a 40.9%.  Not surprising since I think you could reasonably argue he is the 2nd greatest shooter ever to only Curry.

The more interesting thing is only Pierce and Bird are both the 3 pointers made and all time points list.  I think that is the more telling stat.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Tatum's shot chart

I’m glad to see the majority of his shots were inside the arch. That’s why he got to the line.

If memory serves, I think those 3 red X's to the right of the key were all forced shots late in the 4th.  Definitely a lot less bad shots on the whole.

The bad shots definitely seem easier to remember than the good ones.

One of those red x's right inside the 3 point line was that horrible last shot at the end of regulation.

Still, he had a helluva night last night.  That's the Tatum I love to watch.

Hopefully KAT was impressed and demands a trade to Boston in the off-season

Larry would be grumpy, two major Celtics records tumbled today

- Tatum became the youngest Celtic to score 50

- Smart jumped Bird in all-time 3 pointers made

Marcus Smart overtaking Larry Bird in made three pointers is the biggest indictment of the Stevens era thus far.

Think Steph Curry is more to blame than Brad Stevens

Smart's record is a dubious honor at best. If he wasn't such a dumb player, he wouldn't be near any 3-point records because he wouldn't be jacking up so many bad shots, but instead would play within his limits.

Tatum is #10 already, and should be up to 7 by the end of the year.

IT being on there really throws me off too, he's #9 despite playing just 2.5 season with us

And my favorite Ray fact on there is probably that he has 145 more makes than Smart, but 84 fewer attempts. Dude was automatic.

I see Tatum as already at #6, though (and JB at #7): https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/BOS/leaders_career.html
I'm bitter.

If both Jays are here very long term, which I hope but know it probably won't happen, they could be #1 and #2 when all is said and done.
