Payton should be playing 20+ minutes every game.

Tatum with 53 points and a plus/minus of 0 for the game. Sums him up perfectly. All style, no substance.

Guy puts up 53 and you use a meaningless stat to diss him. All style, no substance indeed.

Tatum has a big game and the Celts barely beat a last place team in OT after trailing most of the game and all of a sudden, everyone loves the guy even though he has been getting trashed on this board and in the media for weeks now. Yeah, I'm the first one here to criticize.

I think Tatum is like Paul Pierce, great player who needs a leader to teach him mental toughness and competitiveness.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

you forgot to put a smiley at the end of this.  ;D

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

You said that a few pages ago but the copy & paste failed you because he finished +5.

Not to mention he played a bunch of his minutes with Kemba... no offense to Kemba he was great in OT but his defense is nonexistent.

I wonder what Tatum’s +/- was when he had like 46 up 13 or whatever it was with 3 mins left.

I'm not sure why Kemba can play 40 minutes and not be able to play in a back to back.

Brad was asked this question (not exactly but about why Kemba played 41min) and his answer was that the reason Kemba has been sitting out SEGABABAs and generally keeping to below 35 mins a game is so that towards the end of the season and the playoffs, he can play in these types of games where he may have to play 40+. He doesn't want Kemba to do it regularly but he knows there will be times when they need him to do it so saving him in all those earlier games allows him to do it when they need him to do it.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

No, he really shouldn't unless Kemba is sitting.

Kemba, Smart, Brown and Fournier are much better guards. A 5th guard getting 15-17 minutes a game is his role and he plays it well. He is a rook. He'll get his minutes in future years.

Right now there are 4 guys that are much better than him and ahead of him in the rotation. He needs to continue to play well, learn, improve and be ready in case someone goes down long term.

Hi peeps ♥

This feels like one of those times where you look around you, see nobody's watching, then quickly snatch the W - stuff into your jacket lining and speed-walk off with it.

Will take it.

Having said that, I'm keen to see Fournier in games like this. The extra spacing a good 3pt shooter will give us, but also the defence he'll bring.

Kinda rough win in that, aside from Tatum's stellar night, we also shot a high 45% from 3. Shouldn't take that much.

My favourite part of the game is that we fought through referee adversity. We complained a bit but we didn't just collapse on subsequent possessions on D. We did collapse on D, just not because of the refs. That's the improvement I was personally looking for anyway.

Let's go Celtics.

Disagree.  Payton is shooting 41% from 3s while Kemba is at 35%.  The teams needs Payton's shooting and better ball handling than Kemba.

Another thing.  This game kemba had 4 turnovers, Payton 0.

Kemba 3 for 10 for 3s with 4 turnovers.  Payton 1 for 2 for 3s with 0 turnovers.  He needs more minutes to help this team.

I do hope Tatum is finally over his long Covid and can carry this form into the playoffs. The more wins Celtics can get then the higher the chance of Evan Fournier re-signing with Celtics in the off season

Kemba 3 for 10 for 3s with 4 turnovers.  Payton 1 for 2 for 3s with 0 turnovers.  He needs more minutes to help this team.
Lol. That's hilarious. Let's just discount Kemba's 9 assists, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, 4-4 from the line and 17 points.

Plus statistically comparing, 3 for 10 vs 1 for 2, is hilarious.

Yes that's 50% vs 30%, but it doesn't work like that :)

Kemba did well, with the usual caveat that his defence is sus. Imo this was a very "good Kemba" game.

Until two games ago, the Celtics were 3-20 this season when trailing entering the fourth quarter. They’ve won two straight games now in that type of situation.

Frustrating win, but a win nonetheless.
