We are playing the Rockets, right?  Worst team in the league (no offence to OKC)?

I think this is the perfect game to get Langford some playing time.  Give him a good run.  Make him a little sore.

In theory, it would be... but the Celtics are struggling to beat bad teams at this point and I’m not sure inserting another SG when you have Fournier as a backup is a good idea. Unless of course the game is out of reach for the Rockets. There are no gimme games this year.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Yes, we need to make sure Fournier is getting his minutes and this is likely more important than Langford but if we play principally with one big, there are plenty of wing minutes to go around I would think.

Say Walker and Pritchard share the 48 PG minutes and the bigs share 48 minutes, that leaves 144 minutes to share with Smart, Brown, Tatum, Fournier, and Langford; 24-30 min each.  Realistically. if Langford can play say 16 min, that would be a good start.

Tatum averages 36mpg, Browns at 34mpg, and Smart is 31mpg. Those minutes are about what those guys should be playing and Fournier should be getting 30mpg as well. Romeo should not be cutting into those players minutes.

Not for this one game against Houston though.  This is a good night to try and cut their minutes down.  I am not suggesting this as a general solution, just part of the plan to see what we have with Langford and to get Fournier up to speed.  If we can play Brown and Tatum 24 minutes tonight and win (which we should be able to do) and get some extra run for Langford and Fournier, that it the best possible outcome.

To me, if I was the coach, that is what I would be shooting for.  I would push the team to put Houston away early.  Don't let up.  Play hard.  Don't even let the game be in question for a minute.  Then I sit Tatum and Brown and let Langford and Fournier play as much as possible.

Romeo Langford (conditioning) is out for Friday vs. the Rockets.
He's out of the protocols but it's going to be a slow climb back into shape. He belongs on the waiver wire in season-long leagues.

Jeez. I'm sure it's legit, but this kid just can't catch a break.

Sounds like Covid hit him pretty hard, unfortunately.  Hopefully he can have enough stamina to be active next Wednesday when Kemba sits.  There should be some minutes available that night.

Forsberg called it "Jelly Legs".  I think I'd play him 10 minutes for conditioning, 5 per half maybe.  No better conditioning than game conditioning.

Yeah, problem is 95% of the time they can’t put a team away early. There’s a reason their record is .500. Hopefully they do, but I would bet against it at this point.

Still recovering, I'd guess.  I wouldn't expect him until after Romeo.

This is incredible. Maybe he should just try to make a comeback next season, lol.

I think for Romeo, as sad at it is, this is just another lost season due to injuries plus COVID.

Romeo is a lost career. He will be like 28 years old when he's ready to play. Too late then.
