The more highlights of Gordon's I watch (which I should not be doing because I'm just setting myself up for disappointment) the more into his passing I am. He handles the ball very well and has averaged 3.7 apg the last two seasons and is over 4 this year, from the forward spot. I know assists aren't the be-all-end-all but those numbers are comparable to Gordon Hayward who is still talked about as a great playmaker.

I've talked myself into AG as a GH replacement but one that fits better with the rest of the team.

I have now talked myself fully into being very disappointed when nothing happens tomorrow.

Hayward is much better at scoring and shooting, and is overall a better decision maker.

Hayward's not walking through that door.

True.  Fans shouldn’t think of Gordon as a Hayward replacement, though; they’re not terribly similar.

Definitely a better scorer and shooter. But decision maker?

I've long thought Hayward was overrated as a playmaker. From what I've seen, Aaron seems like an underrated playmaker. He handles the ball really well and makes excellent, smart passes. What he lacks in Hayward's ability as a scorer he makes up for in being a much better, more versatile defender. And given that either guy would be the 3rd or 4th option on this team, I think that makes a better fit while filling the plassing hole the team has.

I should be more specific: I think Aaron's passing can be a replacement for Hayward's passing.

50% more turnovers by AG, though.  He also has the ball in his hands more in Orlando than GH had here.

GH is definitely better but AG would be a great piece here, especially with his contract.

Hoping for a Nesmith protected first for AG trade tomorrow.

The rumors seem to have slowed down. It’s also surprising that not much deals have been made, albeit minor ones, this close to the deadline.

It's mostly minor deals. If something big happens I'll be surprised. Danny already has his we were close on a couple of things story cued up so no pressure.

"There could be a slight wrench in those plans, however. Gordon is now reconsidering his stated desire to leave the Magic, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Wednesday on the "Woj and Lowe '21 Trade Deadline Show." Wojnarowski added that Gordon's change of heart likely wouldn't prevent the Magic from pursuing a deal.

"You mention that trade request that was made weeks ago. Well, I'm told in the last 24-48 hours, Aaron Gordon has had some second thoughts about that trade request, about whether he actually really wants to leave Orlando. But the Magic, their front office, they've forged ahead in trying to find a deal for Gordon. ... Whatever Aaron Gordon wants right now, I know that Orlando and their front office, they're gonna do what's best for them, and that may very well be taking the best package they can."

Denver’s getting into the AG mix with a deal centered on Gary Harris and a young prospect.

If Gary Harris is the competition I have to believe we are still the front runner.  If Orlando would even consider Harris, they would probably also consider Kemba for Gordon and Fournier (my preferred deal).  Smart would definitely get it done for just Gordon but I suspect we are not offering that.  Maybe we are offering Thompson plus a pick or two.

Also rumored is that Chicago is open to talks on Markkanen and specifically a Ball for Markkanen discussion was reported.  I hope Danny is checking in on that since it seems that Collins may be off the market.  Maybe Thompson and picks could get us in the discussion for Markkanen.  Markkanen is probably more value gauging by the Bulls than actual trade interest but no harm in checking in on it.

How would you feel about Gordon + Vucevic for Kemba + TT + picks/young players (not RW)?
We could then try to move Theis which has decent value for a guard from the bench to balance out the roster
