How would you feel about Gordon + Vucevic for Kemba + TT + picks/young players (not RW)?
We could then try to move Theis which has decent value for a guard from the bench to balance out the roster

I would worry about Adam Silver vetoing it, lol.

How many picks and young players?  I mean are we talking 4 1st's, Nesmith, and Langford or something much less than that.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Hmm...  Four #1s, Nesmith, Langford, Thompson, Kemba.  That would leave us with:

Vuc / Timelord / Theis
Gordon / Williams
Tatum / Semi
Brown
Smart / Teague / Pritchard

Does that put us in championship contention?  We’d be stuck with that team with no real avenue to improve.  Is it good enough?  Three legit all-stars, two very good role players, and a lousy bench.

I think the other question would be if it made us good enough to get into the ring chaser tier. Contending teams as we all know, consistently pick up decent players in the off season or mid season for discounts. Just having a shot at a ring gives players hope.

Yes that was mainly my concern, I guess that the asking price would be huge for an uncertain reward; anyway, I have an hard time thinking Gordon + Fournier could make us contenders, at least Gordon + Vucevic have real potential if everything clicks (with a juicy TPE and hopefully some bandwagon effect to fill the gaps here and there)

Denver's now in the lead?

Don't get caught up in that type of rumor.   It may be true or it may be a way to pressure teams into better offers.

Harris averages 9 points a game, and gets paid $20mm this season and next.  You'd take that? Personally, I'd rather save the $30 MM bucks if I were them and take the TPE, but that's just me.

Agreed.  Hampton hasn’t shown anything more than Nesmith, and Harris has significant negative value.

Would that deal include Fournier as well?  Orlando would have to be including more salary than just Gordon, as otherwise they would be over the luxury tax I believe.

It might depend if the current Celtics offer is Thompson instead of the TPE.

It still makes more sense for Thompson than Harris in my book.  Would you rather pay a guy you don't want $10 million in salary next year, and save money this year, or pay a guy $20 million next year, and pay more this year?  Not to mention a Celtics 1st is likely better than the Denver 1st based on current standings.  Would the Magic really pay ~$13 million more in salaries just to get Hampton, whom they passed on in the draft for someone at his same position in Cole Anthony, instead of Nesmith?

That is actually a good offer if in fact that is really what is on the table.  To match or beat, we would have to offer Thompson, Nesmith, and a first, somehow finagled around the TPE.  Hampton probably has slightly more value than Nesmith but our pick should be a little better and Thompson is a whole lot less money and would actually be a good fit alongside Vucevic.

I am not sure that Danny would offer this much.  Perhaps if we get Fournier too but then I am not sure of the Cap/Tax implications (I think it does work).

I don't see why Hampton would have more value than Nesmith.  He was picked after Nesmith in the most recent draft (Orlando passed on him at 15), and he certainly hasn't performed any better than Nesmith this year.  At best they're a wash.

Why do you think Hampton has more value than Nesmith?
