With news coming out that The Pelicans want a "young player or a first round pick" for Lonzo, I'm losing my mind over here.  I would give up two firsts and a GWill/Romeo/Carsen type for him.  I will probably cry when the trade deadline passes and we start hearing reports of how close Danny was on deals.  All I want is for him to make a meaningful play for Lonzo and then round out the week with a move for a wing who can play some small-ball center (Barnes, Gordon, ??).  After that we can work on moving off of the Kemba contract.

What would everyone else write in their "Dear Danny" letter this week?

I would be happy to see Lonzo here and move on from both Smart and Kemba Walker.

I am not sure Lonzo is more of a difference maker than Smart is but he is younger, is a hard worker and has shown good improvement in his shooting. I am happy betting on his future as a long term starter here.

I love Smart.  I would love him off the bench and in certain starting lineups where the matchup makes sense.  Long term though I want to see Lonzo (or a player like him) next to Jaylen, Tatum, Barnes/Grant/Gordon, and Timelord.  I've never been a fan of players like Kemba and while I respect him as a human and a dude, I just don't like him on my team.  I'd love to see him go.

I'm down with this deal, but I prefer Holmes to Bjelica in it, as that lets us to take back the salaries with the Hayward TPE and get a Kemba TPE large enough for Beal this summer.

Then we get a great pick and trade Kemba + the pick for someone really good in the offseason, then use the TPE on a second player.

I don't get why Atlanta signed Gallinari.  Had they already decided to move on from Collins?  It seems like it would have been a lot easier to just overpay for Collins.  I guess this way they can overpay for Gallinari and also have whatever they can trade Collins for. 

I am not sure we want add the salary for Bogs and also then have to overpay for Collins unless you know for sure you can move Kemba without taking back even more salary.  Bogs is 18M, Collins will be $20M+ likely.  I am not even sure either of these players are good.

Either acquire a better backup PG or trade away Jeff Teague so he doesn't get minutes anymore.
