At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I find it hilarious that posters at this site complained less about Danny taking Kelly Olynyk over Giannis Antetokounmpo than current posters are complaining over trading the 30th pick last draft and not taking guys who have low ceilings and aren't guys that would move any needle all that much, if any, for this team towards contention for a title.
Hilarious... he shoulda taken Giannis, was obvs worth the risk, was obvs Olynyk was gonna be okay but not great.
But but yr right well chuffed for those two second rounders that got swapped for bane\tillman, people huh...

I don't think you are remembering this very well.  For years there were posts about Giannis/KO.  I just think by this point it is just run its course and acceptance has finally been reached.  Next year if Bane stays mostly flat (like many older rookies often do), I think this will run its course also.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Forget Bane. I’m p---ed that Danny took Ojeleye over Dillon Brooks in 2017.

Yeah, good call. Danny just isn’t good at identifying talent in the late first and second round. Look at the players on Memphis:

Brooks 2nd round #45
Anderson 1st round #30
Melton 2nd round #46
Allen 1st Round #21
Jones 1st round #24
Bane 1st round #30
Tillman 2nd Round #35

Step it up, Danny.

Isn't he the guy the trade got vetoed over a couple of seasons ago.  Like confusion over which Brooks was in the trade or something like that.

Yes. I think Marshon vs Dillon.

Not sure it's fair to include players that Memphis signed in free agency after their rookie deals were up.  Did you really want Tyus Jones' production while he was on his rookie deal?  Minnesota let him walk because of it.  Kyle Anderson was the Spurs version of Grant Williams his first three years -- invisible in the box score for 15 minutes a night.  Spurs didn't match his offer sheet of the MLE when he hit free agency.  And I will never be sad about not having that Grayson Allen punk on my team (who was also not drafted by Memphis).

Anderson was drafted by the Spurs.  Melton by Phoenix.  Allen by Utah.  Jones by Minnesota.
So only 3 of those were drafted by Memphis with Bane and Tillman from this past draft.

I didn’t say that they were all drafted by Memphis.  Point is, they were all late first and second round players. The talent is out there in the late first and second round. Danny needs to do a better job finding it.

You mean like my fav, Robert Williams?  Most folks on here seem to like Pritchard.  I definitely thought trading away the Bane pick was dumb considering the deadwood on the bench but Danny does a pretty good job drafting.

That’s a shame indeed. Dillon Brooks was a pain in the behind when we played the Grizz. Respect. He would’ve looked very good in green.

My personal what-ifs: in 2016 don’t pick Yabu and Zizic, pick LeVert and DeJounte Murray.

I mean, yeah. He seems to have hit on Rob, if he can get healthy. Pritchard and Nesmith look promising, but are not sure things. Now do you want to go over the misses outside of the top 10? List is long...
