From his article this morning.

Boston Celtics

Among top trade targets for the Celtics: Detroit’s Jerami Grant, sources said. Grant is having a breakout season, averaging 23.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He is a leader for the Most Improved Player of the Year award.

Interesting

But wont come cheap

At least 3 1sts or  Smart, Nesmith or Langford and 2nd

Is my guess

I'd do it in a heartbeat for that package.. that said I'd take Vuv before him if the offers to acquire are similar.

I wouldn't

Vooch is not a good defender

Grant would be close to a perfect fit for the Celts

Again he won't come cheap.   Smart, Nesmith and  2 or 3 1sts  would probably do the trick

Timelord +  Grant  could be an amazing rim protecting/defensive frontcourt duo. Add Tatum length and Brown versatility

There’s no way DET trades Grant unless they find a way to dump Griffins contract.

Find a 3rd team who would take Kemba, I bet Danny would take back Griffin to dump Kemba & pick up Grant. Only cause next year, that Griffin contract is 36mil expiring.

Pistons have no interest in trading Jerami Grant

Grant is in the midst of his best season as a pro, and despite him not being selected for his first All-Star appearance this year, many teams have checked in on his availability and made offers, per league sources. However, Detroit appears to have *no interest* whatsoever in trading Grant, who is averaging 23.4 points this season and is in good position to win the NBA’s Most Improved Award, per league sources. – via James L. At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I doubt that Ainge is showing real interest unless Grant and Vucevich are really up for grabs. I think Danny is just pretending to show some urgency to get something done. It is not like those 2 (unless we get both lol) will put us over the edge...also Danny is not ready to cough up multiple unprotected draft picks.

The thing is that the Boston front office doesn’t really leak rumors.  This stuff is coming out of Detroit/Orlando, from other execs with an agenda, from agents, or from somebody at the Athletic making stuff up.

Because Smart is a better defender and offensive player than him in every way. Grant is a decent player on an awful team. Grant’s efficiency is way down in every category other than free throws. You don’t trade a player like Smart for Jerami f’in Grant.

This makes more sense than anything else I read about Grant.

Although, Shams only speculated on the Celtics interest in Grant, and who wouldn't have interest in him, but that doesn't mean Detroit has any interest in moving him.

Grant is the rock you build around, not the pebble you toss aside. Think, the Celtics and Paul Pierce after Antoine but before KG and Ray.

I don't see anything happening on this.  Grant is the type of player Detroit would want to keep.  can't see him going anywhere no matter who's interested

Better at offense?

Can you expound upon that? Because Grant sure seems like he is a better scorer and better shooter. It’s weird for you to site efficiency when talking about Marcus Smart.

Marcus Smart is either Boston’s best passer or close behind Kemba. With Smart, we are a mediocre to bad passing team that scores because of its stars’ one on one talent. Without him we are bad to really bad passing team. If we have to trade Smart for Grant that problem likely gets worse.

Ordinarily I wouldn’t believe this rumor either, but it’s Shams. Who has better sources?I guess they could be playing him, but I don’t associate him with that kind of thing. Am I missing it?
