Timelord has come a long way.  I hate that they have to manage his minutes because of his hip injury.  I'd love to see him play 25 mpg.  I hate comparisons.  There are things Timelord does that I haven't seen anyone in the NBA do.  He has to be on of the top 3 most athletic centers in the game.  His explosion is just insane. His touch around the hoop is amazing and his passing instincts are top 5 for a center.  He's not Bam because he's different then Bam.  Timelord has zero post game and barely has a jump shot.  His D is stout but he still has lapses.  He is a lob city threat like we haven't had.  He's not a floor spacer but he doesn't clog the lane either because he's such a lob threat at the rim.  We don't need Timelord to be Bam we need him to be the best timelord possible.  Good things happen when he's on the court.  I just want to see him on the court longer.

Is there any more fun player to watch in the NBA?

When Stevens took Bob out midway through the 4th for Theis i nearly TUIMM. Luckily Theis sucked so Brad put TL back in almost immediately.

Same

Last season Brad would have left Theis in there

TL vs Baynes Thursday should be fun   ;D

TIMELORD and Pritchard may well be our two best passers. TIMELORD makes good quick passes some of them amazing. Pritchard makes good passes and sends the ball in the correct direction.

Yeah... on a pure "enjoyment of watching the game" level, the two of them are top of the Cs list right now. I also like that neither spends ANY time on refs, complaining, or grunting to try to get a foul. They just play.

What was inefficient prior to the TL show was the lack of TL show

The guy could get you 3 alley oop dunks without even trying

Celtics would run one alley oop dunk for him and that was it

Right now, the Celtics are playing very nicely as a team  and taking the best shot.  I have not seen the team take these many twos before.  With Brad it was 3s or and ones attempts.   It looks like "the heck with it".   Which I'm good with.  Keep "the momentum rolling" is underrated

Winning taking twos and layups will open up the 3 point game. You have to just to what teams are giving you. I think sometimes Brad is slow to adjust.

Looks like a stats nerd

But it wasnt working out

Opposing team went with three things to make Celts life hard.  Make the Celts shoot contested 3s.   Close the space around the rim.   Double team/pressure Walker/Tatum

Kill clock, make Celts take tough shots

Since the winning streak has started. Its been pass the ball quickly. Dont hold, dont think.  Just pass or take a quality shot quickly/pace

And it trickles down to the team D.  Rotate quickly. Switch quickly. Collapse to protect the rim quickly

Drawback = Celts have given up some wide open 3s. Especially if a team like Clippers like to zip the ball around.

Clippers ran into 3 pt shooting fatigue by the 4th.

I enjoy watching this brand of basketball

Also noticed how much effort he's been putting on the court lately. Dude is working hard, taking very few plays off and rarely giving up.

Yup. And even directing some traffic

Fun fact of the day: he’s also a crossing guard in his spare time.

That’s what I don’t get about players who grumble to the refs.  It’s not going to change anything and often times it results in defensive lapses.  Also wonder if maybe it doesn’t p--- the refs off to where they hold a bias against the complainers.

Tatum needs to stop it with the over exaggerated floor slides followed by looking around for a call, while the defense is in a 4 on 5.

Just get your butt back on defense JT!

Bam is a much better defensive player than Timelord. Also significantly better ball handler and passer. Miami uses him as the fulcrum of their offense.

TL is a better passer. TL is a passing savant.

The defensive gap is really not significant. Timelord is a much better rim protector, Bam is more versatile and better on the perimeter.

No joke! Have u noticed his rebound tap passes?
They dont always work but about once a game he does one....its incredible vision, thats soooo hard to do.
If he can become a scoring threat from the high post (more likely w his jump shot touch) or low post (havent seen that ability from him), his passing ability will open up tons of offense.

yup

or TL gets a pass from the PNR, drives, stops, turn around laser pass to one of the open shooters

that was a beauty pass. Good court awareness
