Daniel Theis' Next Contract

I just don't see Theis being the Center losing out on minutes when the playoffs happen.   He is also the Center I don't see needing as many minutes to be prepared.



Williams needs the minutes to improve and play important minutes.

Thomas needs minutes to create chemistry (and keep trade value)

But Theis is probably the easiest center to trade in a small-to-medium move, as he’s expiring and his contract is not prohibitive for any contender.

Yes, he has the value but what would the Celtics be bringing back that makes it worth it?

Hopefully a pick or prospect that could be of value to someone with the 3/4 swing type player we would rather give minutes to ahead of Semi and Grant.

This is really dumb that we have one center too many. Danny should never have signed Thompson.  Seems like it was based on a lack of confidence in Rob William's development, something most fans could see as inevitable, but coaching staff and management did not.

It is a huge risk without getting a useful big back or via free agency.

I feel like it probably stemmed from a lack of faith in him keeping healthy, which I don't necessarily hate. Rather have to offload a guy than be one guy short at a position

The Celtics have lost 3 all-star caliber players in 2 seasons: Kyrie, Horford, Hayward. Let's face it, we aren't a legit contending team. If we can get a first for either Theis or Thompson, imo we should pull the trigger.

The way I see it, we should try to rebuild the team on the fly around the Jays. Now is the time to do it. Both our stars are locked up for 4+ years. It's not like we are afraid to lose them in free agency.

They have lost a fourth in Kemba. That is the biggest problem.
