He took 10 threes last night despite only hitting 3. What did you say in the other thread? If its not your night, stop shooting. Jaylen settled for jumpers just as much as anyone in the game yesterday.
So if he had hit just 1 more of his 3s, he is 4-10 and we win the game in regulation. Or if he had pump faked one of his missed 3s (ending 3-9) and drove to the basket and got fouled, we win the game in regulation.
That is the deal with 3s. Kind of like hitting in baseball. Hitting one or two more a week and you go from shooting 33% to 40% and being a star. (based on assuming 5-15 vs 6-15 in a week, or say 8-24 vs 10-24 in a week). That is just part of the deal when you rely on the 3 too much too often.
But you can't criticize Brown for going 3-10 in an overtime game. Now if he goes 9-30 in a week or 27-90 in a month, OK, maybe you start wondering. But you can't pull out one 3-10 game any more than you can say a baseball player needs to stop trying to pull the ball because he was 1-5 in one game.
