Trouble in paradise?

Or... a reprise of "Both Teams Played Hard" ?

One thing I noticed was the amount of late minutes Neismith was playing. What I found interesting is not only do I not recall him shooting in the fourth quarter or overtime, I don’t recall the ball even swinging his way.

I like what our bigs bring to the table, but I do think Danny should go hard after Demarcus Cousins, if he and the Rockets part ways. The team needs an offensive minded center to help this offense. I’m not talking about a center that can shoot 3’s. I want a center that can score a multitude of ways in the paint. This would help create an inside/outside attack, where our shooters can start taking easier shots too.

Cousins is not the team cancer he used to be but I doubt Brad has warmed up to the idea of coaching him.

Overall, I didn’t think “crunch time” was the biggest issue.  The team got mostly good looks, if I’m remembering correctly.

Rather, it was 15 to 20 minutes leading up to crunch time that completely sucked.

Every crunch time possession on offense still boils down to somebody doing an iso.  They get off OK shots that way, at least, but we've seen that they're capable of executing a decent half court set to get an open look.  Why not in crunch time?

This. Not only is is dubious from an effectiveness standpoint, it's truly painful to watch.

Wonder if he's got no comment on shooting 7-23 and playing some pretty poor defence in some sets?

and yet his poor defense was crucial to the outcome of the game.

Where's the trade proposal for JB?

Because its one mediocre defensive game

He is usually good

Brown is close to untradeable.  His game has taken another leap.  On top of his strong defense naturally

Brown is fearless and doesn't just settle for jumpers

He took 10 threes last night despite only hitting 3. What did you say in the other thread? If its not your night, stop shooting. Jaylen settled for jumpers just as much as anyone in the game yesterday.

He took 10 threes last night despite only hitting 3. What did you say in the other thread? If its not your night, stop shooting. Jaylen settled for jumpers just as much as anyone in the game yesterday.

So if he had hit just 1 more of his 3s, he is 4-10 and we win the game in regulation.  Or if he had pump faked one of his missed 3s (ending 3-9) and drove to the basket and got fouled, we win the game in regulation.

That is the deal with 3s.  Kind of like hitting in baseball.  Hitting one or two more a week and you go from shooting 33% to 40% and being a star.  (based on assuming 5-15 vs 6-15 in a week, or say 8-24 vs 10-24 in a week).  That is just part of the deal when you rely on the 3 too much too often.

But you can't criticize Brown for going 3-10 in an overtime game.  Now if he goes 9-30 in a week or 27-90 in a month, OK, maybe you start wondering.  But you can't pull out one 3-10 game any more than you can say a baseball player needs to stop trying to pull the ball because he was 1-5 in one game.
