Just a quick thought,

Brown’s overhelping is costing us like 8-15 points every game.

His defence has, in my opinion, really fallen off recently. Not sure what it is

I watched most of the debacle.  JT looked slow afoot on D, and thought he tried to do too much when the ball was in his hands.  Stevens was out coached by VanGundy.

I haven't been a move on from Stevens before, but I'm getting close.

Brown didn't have a great game shooting wise, got beat a handful of times on D.  Knee may be acting up.

Kemba, well, enough said.

This team could be flirting with lottery soon!

IMO his knee is barking.  You can see it in the lack of lift he has finishing drives too.

Yeah, agree. Hope we rest him for a while. Throw Nesmith in the deep end - like what he does

You're right. Defense hasn't been good this year and that's on our stars not setting the example.
Maybe Brown and Tatum feel like they need to preserve energy on defense such that they're able to carry the team on the offensive end?

As far as defense goes, Time Lord continues to have a defensive rating 10 points better than every other player on the team.

Of all of our players, TL leads in:

* defensive rating
* offensive rating
* rebounding %
* steal %
* block %
* FG %

But hey, let's keep starting Theis/TT, because they've gotten a little better at playing together, and RWill misses some rotations.

I'm fully in the start TL camp now. Was cautious to start off, but he has taken the next step in his game. He's been awesome.

Maybe reminiscent of when Ben Wallace started to figure it out ;)

I think this is probably a big part of it. When you're required for half of your team's offense it must be hard to give maximum effort on defense as well. Really wish we had a few players that could help shoulder the burden, even decent role players.

Leaguewise (at least 200 minutes played), some Robert Williams rankings of all NBA players, which again suggests he's a special player (in particular on defense):

Defensive estimated plus-minus: 4th
Blocks per 36 min: 5th
Steals per 36 min: 3rd
Rebounds per 36 min: 12th
True shooting %: 2nd
Defensive box plus-minus: 4th

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

Stevens said something along the lines of the Celtics trying to limit Timelord's minutes now in order to play him more in the playoffs and hopefully make it through the year in one piece.  That would be the only acceptable reason not to play him a whole lot more than he's playing now.  So it kind of seems that in this situation either Stevens doesn't know what he's doing or Timelord is way more fragile than we thought.
