This one is going to sting for a while

Especially because our best players = self inflicted wound

The "Best" players think they are better than they are and it takes a team to win. That should be posted in our locker room!

You guys need to cool it on the Kemba smiling thing. Would you rather he walking around sulking and pouting? I get it, he had a bad game, but having a guy like Kemba who will continue to try to lift other players up is actually nice. I am sure he hates how he shot the ball today, but he was still trying out there and was still taking charges even when his shot wasn't falling. It's okay to be upset with how Kemba and the team played today, but talking about him smiling too much is like TMZ stuff.

I don't care if he smiles or not but Kemba 5-21. No one is forcing those shots but Kemba. If I was playing with Kemba and he just keeps smiling and jacking up shots it's demoralizing wether he's smiling or not. At Least Jaylen had 9 assists. If Kemba was playing for a minimum contract I think people would be more excited that he's taking charges and shooting like poop.

As it stands, our team's only hope of being anything close to a contender starts with Kemba becoming the Kemba of old. He probably could have taken a few less shots, but when he is wide open at the 3 point line, he absolutely needs to take those. He is either going to get closer to the guy we saw in the last game (ATL) or he is going to continue to falter more than we'd prefer...hopefully it's the former.

This team severely lacks leadership and discipline

Sometimes there's a reason you're open. It's demoralizing to the other players on the team watch Kemba go 5-21. Maybe Kemba could play like a point guard when his shot isn;'t falling.

We are now in 6th place, only 1/2 game ahead of 8th place Charlotte Hornets.

Need to get a winning streak started Tuesday vs Mavs.

Keep the faith.

Well, Timelord continued to look good at least. Played 21 Mins and had 8pts, 13Reb, 4blk, 3ast. Silver lining....?  🤔
Quoting Nick from the now locked Ime thread:

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

He looked solid. Good seeing Nesmith out there too. Felt Theis, TL and Nesmith were the only guys hustling all game.

Agreed I'd add Pritchard and  say that Jaylen needs a break. It's clear he's hurt.

Pritchard had some bad fouls and didn't push the pace so I'm out on feeling Pritchard was a positive. He could have been better not sure what his deal is since Kemba has been back. It's like he is afraid to compete.

I don't understand, unless he's being told to, why Pritchard is waking the ball up the floor like that. We are so slow to set up we helped one of the worse defensive teams in the NBA without Adams, look great. So slow and predicable.

I almost guarantee it's a directive given how he pushed the pace at Oregon as a starter and pushed the pace when he started here

This season has the feeling of Kyrie’s last year. There were also a bunch of blown leads that year and a sense that the team just didn’t  have what it took to close games.

Ainge and the organization are looking at this from a multi-year vantage point, as opposed to a fan’s which is much more oriented towards instant gratification. If he doesn’t feel like the team is a player away, he’ll let the season progress as is and make more significant changes in the off-season (perhaps dealing Kemba, perhaps filling the TPE). They are a good team but not a contender right now and it’ss far from a certainty that we’ll be buyers at the deadline.

Why sign Kemba if he feels the team isn't ready? I also do not understand running Jaylen into the ground playing all these minutes when his clearly hurt, to lose to these junk teams. This team needs a reset, bad. The Pels spread the floor in the second half and ate our lunch.

I think Ainge signed Kemba because he felt the team wasn't ready. We lost Irving and Horford. It looked like we were back to being a few years away from contention. Bring in an All Star point guard and that would at least keep the Celtics in the playoffs and release pressure on Brown and Tatum to carry the team until they would be ready to takeover.

This take is amplified by not making a single move at the trade deadline while it was clear that the team severely lacked depth and having multiple picks and young players at his disposal to bring in veteran help. He didn't think they were ready yet.
