Im having a hard time coming up with a comparison for Nesmith. Hes a fairly unique talent. Good size at 6'5" 213 pounds, with a 6'10" wingspan.

I think he moves around the court like a natural shooting guard. Very quick feet, good lateral movement. Hes fast and when hes in transition hes a very good run and jump athlete. Not very explosive without momentum.

On top of that a great shooter so they claim. With very good defensive upside.  I think the Middleton comp is lazy now. Kris is a natural 3, much better player. Very different imo.

So who does A.J.N. remind you of?  Give me some names off three and D Wings that can shoot and chase down guys for blocks. With very good quickness.  Klay Thompson? Bruce Bowen? Not a lot of names i can think of. Tps for good comps.

Interesting I think lateral quickness is his biggest shortcoming and what likely prevents him from ever being more then a 7th/8th man.

I really can’t think of a comp. He has solid length and likely fills out into a 225+lb wing.

why do we even need to create a player comparison? i dont see much point to this.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

It’s sort of like the punchline to a joke, we’re all in on the game but it’s less fun when we name it directly.

So that 5 years from now we can revisit this and whoever was closest can brag? ;D

Aaron Nesmith missed most of his college season,he got the length and smooth acceleration. No combine ,no summer league,no Red Claws, abbreviated pre season and training camp.I am partial to young players with length but if they outperform their bodies even Marcus Smart had early horrific injuries. High ankle sprain ,dislocated knee, dislocated fingers.
Nesmith and Romeo have similar wing spans, and both have smooth acceleration,  both make catch up from behind blocks.
Romeo was a highly ranked high school player,As a freshmen led the country scoring through contact at rim. Both these guys fell in draft.
I think he averaged 18 pts playing with an injured wrist He told nobody and had offseason surgery.

Nesmith certainly throws himself around took a good hit at the rim.Looks like he has to learn the art of falling..
Like what the Celtics teach these kids.Hard work and defense.

I'm not sure what Nesmith looks like as a player. I haven't seen enough of him. I'll say, just for the sake of the thread, a young Kylie Korver...

I don't think he's got a game yet. He played 19 games in two years at Vandy. He is 19 games away from being a high school player.

Plays hard
Athletic- uses his length well in his few minutes
Good natural three point shot in college

He really needed to be in Maine playing all the time working on his handle and...and.

You know? He might back up Brown and Tatum some day. Until then? "Mr. Defense."

He reminds me of this kid that came into the league slow but after adjusting to the speed of the game and due to his athleticism, hustle and shot really made a name for himself.

That kid? Aaron Nesmith.

I want Aaron Nesmith to mature into being the best Aaron Nesmith he can be. No need for putting expectations on Aaron that he might not live up to or that he might blow out right out of the water.

Best answer and right on point.  He has a good shot but with a lower trajectory.  He's been slow to just let it fly when he catches the pass.  Once he gets used to the speed of the NBA game, his best attribute (shooting) will on display.  The other components of his game (going to the hoop) and getting there are a pleasant surprise.

I'm also surprised how quickly his D has improved.  He often blew assignment leaving guys wide open, was blown by on drives to the paint but his energy level and defensive leverage his increased dramatically.

Let's let time define who Nesmith is.

i think a good battle is shaping up for minutes between him and Romeo .

I like Romeo s confidence , defense and handle .  I think he ll overcome all the nagging injuries eventually.
