So hornets won last night.

We’re like 2.5 games ahead of them.

Idk if anyone else feels this way. But god I hope we finish the season ahead of them.

Losing Hayward to them for nothing was a huge screw up by us.

But at least the hornets were supposed to suck.

Now if they’re better than us that’s just an even bigger slap in the face.

This deserves a huge TP. The Cs made it to the ECF without him last season while the Hornets finished 19 games below .500 in a shortened season. I am surprised by gouki's take here - it is dead wrong and a little trolly and I would expect more from him. The Hornets have no business being anywhere near the Cs record-wise and I would expect a healthy Cs team to destroy CHA.

Besides, Hayward is in CHA because of money and because of their previous history of wanting him. Robyn said as much in her interview. But don't worry, we still have an active thread going about how Danny messed up by not trading a FA (who he had no ability to trade) to IND for Turner.

Charlotte has 5 guys that can pop off for 30/7/8 on any given night.

Celtics have 3 guys that can.

Not sure why that is relevant just an observation .

Boston is better than Charlotte, but I never understood why people thought Charlotte was going to be bad.  They are a perfectly mediocre team and always had a decent shot at the 8th seed in the east.

It makes sense. If you remove an all-star level player from a top 5-6 team and add him to a terrible team; that terrible team is going to get better, while the top 5-6 team is going be worse. It's no surprise that CHA is now okay, while the Cs aren't quite as elite as last year; we didn't replace Hayward's production in any way.

Rozier is starting to feel more expendable for them. Lavar Ball is clamoring for LaMelo to start. Devonte Graham always raises his game when Rozier sits and is probably a better fit next to LaMelo. Rozier and Hayward have a history and we know how TR feels about being 6th man.

If they think that they might actually have something with Malik Monk I would be surprised if he's not moved by the deadline or in the offseason.

That just isn't true.  30/7/8 is very difficult to do.  Hayward, Ball, Graham, and Rozier all in theory could do it (Monk just isn't a good enough passer or rebounder for me to think he could really do it though he has had a 31/5/5 in addition to the 36/6/2 game from yesterday), but Smart could also do it (he had a 37 p, 8 a, 5 r game just last year) along with Walker, Tatum, and Brown.  And frankly Teague also nearly did it last year with a 32 p, 9 a, 5 r game (he also had a 32/6/4 game).  And if you are going to count Ball, then what do you do with someone like Pritchard (already has had a 23 p, 8 a, 2 r game just 14 games into his career).
