I'd rather get Ball or Bledsoe. They are both better defenders and both much younger. I think Ball fits our team best.

A quick look at late last year (as in August - just 5 months ago) he shot 21-44 from 3.

Looking for some distraction and hit some open shots - not too much to ask.  It’d be nice to have another guy on the court that opposing teams need to pay attention to.  Unless he’s truly lost his touch, teams still need to prevent him from getting open looks.

I would be for Ball more than Bledsoe.  Mainly for the length on def.

could be because he’s the only good player on  Terrible team so he gets defensive priority

I wouldn't give up part of the TPE or anything more than some second rounders and players like Edwards or Waters for him. I can imagine New Orleans want to turn this into a bidding war to maximize their return, but if the price is more than that, Phili or Miami or Brooklyn can have him.

He's making 13 million, it would really eat out TPE. That would be very disappointing if that's what we got out of it.

He looks cooked this season, and is 36 years old. He might have something left for short minutes, but that's about it. We already have two aging vets on our team in Teague and Thompson.

I doubt he's "cooked", he was productive last season, and takes great care of himself. A consummate over achiever, and I mean that as a supreme compliment.  I was highly skeptical that he would make it in the NBA, and man he proved me wrong.

As someone else mentioned, he would be great instant offense off the bench, and mentor for Nesmith, who really can model his working 3 point line off of him. Mike Schmidt as I recall in his video session with Nesmith pointed out footage of JJ to Aaron as a guy he should work to emulate.

But no 1st round pick, unless highly protected, and even then I'd really hesitate.

This is the issue. People criticize Ainge for having so many young draft picks on the roster, and not enough vets who can play. Then we sign two vets this year, and in a shocking development, the vets are well past their prime and barely help, or even hold back the development of our young guys. And the other vets who will be in play for us with the TPE will be similar, or have terrible contracts. LAL/LAC, Miami and maybe GS seem to be about the only places that can attract better than replacement-level vets on good money.

I'd do it, but I wouldn't give up a first round pick either for him at this point.

I've always said over the past few years that this team could use a Korver or Reddick like shooter in the playoffs, and it seems those kind of guys have killed us in the playoffs as well.

We're going to need guys to come off the bench and score, and if they don't trust Nesmith and others yet, then I'm not against adding Reddick.

I would actually consider giving up a 1st round pick and a future protected 1st (or multiple 2nds) to get Ball + Reddick. I think those two would fill real needs on the team and I still think Ball's got potential and can improve.

So we'll finally get a great 3pt shooter ... when he's no longer a great 3pt shooter. Wonderful.

Redick had a 6 game stretch where he shot 11.5% from 3.  Since then he is at 34%, which I get isn't great, but has been a lot better (and includes his last 2 games at 1 of 10).  He had a 6 game stretch at over 40%.  So I guess I just don't know if he is cooked or just more streaky but starting to heat up and get more inline with his prior shooting.
