Redick had a 6 game stretch where he shot 11.5% from 3.  Since then he is at 34%, which I get isn't great, but has been a lot better (and includes his last 2 games at 1 of 10).  He had a 6 game stretch at over 40%.  So I guess I just don't know if he is cooked or just more streaky but starting to heat up and get more inline with his prior shooting.

Thing about him is tho he has to be REALLY good, not just pretty good, from 3 to make up for his defensive shortcomings. Like 40 percent+ on high volume to break even. And he COULD do that, but its not a guarantee.

And if you use the TPE you have 15.5 million left, and only about 4 million below the tax. So you're done for this year, and the better big wing options like Barnes or Gordon are off the table next summer because you don't have enough TPE.

I don't think Redick makes much sense here  tbh. The C's should aim higher.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
A 36 year old shooting guard who probably retires after this season doesn't excite me in the least.

Does Reddick make sense for the Celtics? No.

Does it make sense for the Celtics to pretend to have interest in him to raise up the price for Miami/Brooklyn/Phili? Absolutely!

Lol people won't give up a 1st rnd. pick for reddick...smh. then what the hell are we doing?!?!!

What is wrong with celtics fans???  Anything after the top 5 are pretty much a waste... Esp. with danny's ability to spot talent. We might not be that bad but we won't be bad enough to land a top 5 this season.

Is jj reddick worth a 1st rnd. pick? Probably not, but you have to figure the pick is going to be anywhere from 20 - 30 and those players available there we may as well throw darts at the board.

Any player we draft going forward will not be able to contribute the way reddick can. Any player we draft we're waiting to see if they will contribute or if they're a bust.

We need players that we know what to expect from them. We don't need question marks.

So we'll finally get a great 3pt shooter ... when he's no longer a great 3pt shooter. Wonderful.

There is a reason he is available; and this statement says all we need to know..

He looks cooked this season, and is 36 years old. He might have something left for short minutes, but that's about it. We already have two aging vets on our team in Teague and Thompson.

Lol. Tristan Thompson is 29 years old.

I agree otherwise, would be nice to get a player than can be a factor beyond this season with the TPE.

I'd be willing to give up a first rounder for Reddick + another player. Not Reddick alone.

We absolutely should not give up a 1st for Redick. Maybe if it was 2015. But that's just throwing away a draft pick at this point. With so many teams restricted from moving 1sts because of trades, I think there's far better deals at there.

I give up a 1st and a couple of 2nds for Reddick and Ball.

If we got Ball, would he be a RFA and we'd have right to match?

I change my mind I don't want reddick. Not for the reasons you guys posted. But I didn't realize we'd need to use the trade exception to acquire him.

If all it was going to cost us is a draft pick then I'd be down.

This team should not be holding onto draft picks. They should be in the getting better now business. No more waiting to see(insert random young player's name) fail us in the playoffs.

We need players we can count on(specifically on our bench). Come playoff time our bench will fail as currently constructed. That means the starters can't have a bad game.

...kind of a hard way to win.
