No big deal.  Celtics had a few nice opportunities to tie up or take the lead, the shots just didn't drop. They were all good shots, though - Tatum's corner 3, Smart's iso floater, and Brown's 3.

This was also the third game in four nights at the beginning of a season with a short layoff.

Detroit's better than their record suggests, too.  They play hard, defend, and have two MIP candidates in Grant and Jackson.

All good. On to the next one.

Where do you get off coming in here with all those reasonable statement!  we want to be mad!!

He’s right but it’s fair as a fan to be frustrated by this. There’s still no excuse to come out the way the did in the first quarter. Hopefully it’s a good lesson.

yeah, it was a bad loss, especially because we seemed to have control of the game with just a couple minutes left and then the wheels completely came off.

Sometimes you have put players in that can get you a bucket. I guess we have no such players....

well we do have 2 of them, but they both went cold, and Smart was pretty good himself at blowing up our lead.

Brad needs to decide who his guys are. He was jerking guys in and out of the line up all night.

Nights were Smart feels the need to take over don’t usually end well. We are just a better team with Teague starting.

His job isn't really that complicated, play monster def, and execute the offense and get Brown and Tatum in position to score, penetrate and dish or finish if it is there.  If he would just do those things really well and be efficient on offense, we'd be a lot better off.

The pain of defeat at the hands of this formerly winless Pistons club will be rapidly and thoroughly erased in a matter of hours when the Boston Celtics "do not" spot this formerly winless Pistons team ....23 freaking points in the first quarter of their NEXT game.

Hard to decide when half the team is not ready to play.

Brad Stevens is not doing a good job preparing/disciplining his team?

And we need James Harden.

If they had put in a bare minimum of effort in the first half this game is not close enough for a late panic-choke. They set themselves up once again to choke like dogs. They deserve all the criticism and shame they will receive after this abomination.

It was disappointing to come out flat tonight.  This has also been an odd year so far -- we're seeing good teams get blown out by ~ 50 points.  Seems guys are hungover from last season, maybe out of shape, etc. I have really high hopes for this team, though.

Remove the Js and we are a worse team than the pistons ... people need to temper down the expectations

True. And it is just one loss.

But it would be good to get the national media hype train going early this season. Show the refs and sponsors we've arrived so we finally get some respect when it matters.

Remove the two best players from any team and they are all worse than the Pistons. Take away AD and Lebron and the Lakers are awful.

19 TOs, 50% FT%, scoreless the last 4:15, against a winless team. This is on everyone except Brown.

BTW, in our three losses, the DT-TT duo has notched 10, 11, and 7 points.  Can't have 2 starters doing that.
