Wouldn't be against trading anybody for the right price. Here's a trade I'd do involving Theis.

Troy Brown is a 6'6'' playmaker who ain't athletic enough to defend opposing PGs, hence he defends opposing wings. To put it another way, he's a PG on offense and a wing on defense. The Wizards were using him as a 3+D wing last season. That's not his role. He needs the ball in his hands in order to maximize his effectiveness. Is he the ideal fit next to Tatum and Brown? No, he isn't. That being said, I miss Hayward's passing ability. Troy Brown is (very) poor man's Hayward.
Moritz Wagner is a modern big who can play on the perimeter. He can pop from 3pt range. He can roll to the basket. He can post up. He can even put the ball on the floor a little bit. None of our current Centers can consistently shoot the 3 and/or create their own shot. Wagner has the potential to become a useful stretch big in the future. Problem is, he's a below average defender.
Let's face it, the C's aren't legit contenders. Not with Kemba battling a chronic injury anyway. The sooner we start building around the Js the better. It's possible that both Troy Brown and Wagner will end up being busts. I'd be willing to take that risk. I mean, it's not like Theis is a world-beater. Not to mention, we'd dump Edwards' 2-year guaranteed contract. Personally speaking, I have zero expectations for Edwards. At this point, I view him pretty much as dead salary.
Why for the Wizards?
Cause they wanna make the playoffs. They are in win-now mode with Westbrook and Beal on their payroll. Troy Brown, Wagner and Edwards are reclamation projects. Theis is a battle-hardened vet who perfectly complements their roster. None of their current Centers can play D on the perimeter. Plus, they drafted Avdija at #9 who's a similar player to Troy Brown.
