The only thing I'd say about the preseason games is that the Javonte-as-a-starter experiment doesn't give me the warm fuzzies. He doesn't have a role on the court. He's not a defender. He's not a shooter. He's not a ball-handler, either primary or secondary. He slashes a little bit, but not well enough to take touches away from Brown or Tatum or even Smart. I don't see what he adds to the starting lineup.
I honestly think I'd prefer Ojeleye as a stopgap option in the starting lineup. He's an average defender and three-point shooter (37% last year), and while he's a disaster if he tries to do anything else, he at least has a job when he gets on the court. And I don't say this as a fan of Ojeleye.
