For a second, I forgot he was not still a member of our team. I hope he puts injuries behind him and can have a meaningful rest of his career.

I never got injured for a good portion of my life and when I had a first severe injury, it seemed to cascade into new injuries. Eventually, things returned to normal.

Man is just going through a tough stretch.

He'll be fine.

Get well fast, GH. I know I still believe in him.

Injuries aside I don’t think you can win it all if Hayward is your top player. I think his best role going forward is as a super 6th man. He was smart to take that big long term contract. His family is set now and for the future.
you seem to be saying that with only the measly $25,000,000 per year being offered by the celtics on top of his career earnings of $151,000,000 that his future was insecure.

just for the record, his wife and wife's family is worth multiple times what GH is worth in his career.

I’ve seen you mention this before.  I googled it and didn’t find anything about her family’s wealth.  Do you have any info on this you can share.

yeah ive searched it as well, hoping it was out there already so i could easily back it up w/o feeling like i'm talking out of turn, i'm just sharing what i can w/o putting myself in jeopardy of losing my access.  i've done this with other stuff as well, on CB a few times.

Don't get me wrong GH is all about the $ (nothing wrong with that I guess) everyone knows how he didn't want to give up a few 100k per year to let us keep AB when he signed with us.  Once there was delay on a return flight after a road trip, a few people were inconvenienced and he needed/wanted to make his own flight with his wife who was traveling with...he was upset he had to pay for his private plane...maybe 15k i think...he wanted the c's to reimburse him (not sure if they are even allowed to)

  • GOT IT!!!
He will either finally turn this around or keep getting hurt. There is no in between with Hayward it seems. Now entering his 30's it doesn't look promising.

Wow.  That is incredibly petty.

Well, $15,000 isn't petty generally speaking...but relatively speaking $15,000 is something like 1/10,000th of what Gordon Hayward has earned over the last 8 years or so of his career.   If I work out 1/10,000th of what I've earned over the past 8 years it would work out something like $52.

So $15,000 for Hayward is equivalent to $52 for me.  There is no way in hell I would complain if I had to pay $52 to pay for a private flight home if I were in that same scenario.

That's what you call "white privilege" and Hayward is one of them. A very cunning man getting injured and collecting big paychecks. Glad I don't miss him one bit on the Celtics.

Not sure if you were joking here (since you gave no indication that you are).  Assuming you aren't I have to ask - what does "white privilege" have to do with any of this?

We're talking about a league where something like 85% of the top 50 highest paid players are not white.

The unfortunate irony is that if anybody on this forum made a post like that in the reverse (i.e. anti-black) it would probably have been deleted and gotten an instant ban (or at the very least a stern warning).
