Anyone watched any Raps games? Are they deserving of a winless record so far?

They really lack a go-to-scorer.

Raptors 0-3 and Wizards 0-4 are already in a bit of trouble when Magic 4-0, Hawks 3-0 and Pacers 3-1 are having strong starts.
I'd gladly trade for Baynes if the Raptors decide to sell some of their vets at the trade deadline . Would also consider using our TPE to take on a large expiring and flip it for Lowry (he defended a lot of 2s in the playoffs the past couple of seasons next to Van Jordan in the backcourt, so he'll fit well next to Kemba).
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

Would love to have Lowry for a year with PP playing behind him
PP would learn ALOT for Kyle.

Something to keep an eye on regarding NBA players as the season progresses:

https://www.fox2detroit.com/news/ohio-state-study-30-of-student-athletes-have-heart-damage-linked-to-covid-19

30% of college athletes who recovered from covid have heart damage.

"Recent studies have raised concerns of myocardial inflammation after recovery from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), even in asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic patients."

"myocarditis is typically caused by a viral infection with symptoms ranging from chest pain, fatigue, shortness of breath, to a negative impact on heart rate and rhythm as seen in conditions such as arrhythmias."

After my bout with Covid, I have struggled through myocarditis the last couple months. Felt good for a while and then, man, I didn't. Had to shut down all physical activity, which my doc said I can't start up again until next month. Heart disease is not something that's in my family history, so this was scary. I'm a 55 year old man and it was frightful. I can't imagine a young athlete getting it.

30% is a crazy high number.

Have there been any complications for any NBA players who got it?

That's definitely scary. Very sorry to hear that Nick, thanks for sharing it. I hope you recover completely from it soon. It's really good that your doctor is on top of it and monitoring and avoiding you on it though.

Once I shut things down, it get progressively better during the day, but when I got vertical, the racing heart, shortness of breath and chest tightness set in. It was beyond scary lying down, trying to get sleep and feel your heart pounding so strong.

Feeling much better now, almost three months post diagnosis, but still a bit anxious about starting to exercise again, even with a now fairly clean bill of health.

I can't imagine being a young elite athlete and feeling these things.

Anyway, back to basketball....

No word on if they are even testing the NBA players who recovered from covid for this. I imagine even if they are, it would be highly confidential as it would have potentially massive financial implications for those who do have signs of heart damage.

One potential example though is Mo Bamba:

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/mo-bamba-still-dealing-with-covid-19-symptoms-despite-june-diagnosis-theres-no-timetable-on-his-return/

and from the same article, the Red Sox Eduardo Rodriguez:

"Boston Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez suffered myocarditis, inflammation of the heart, during his bout with COVID-19. "

This college basketball player who recently collapsed during a game and was hospitalized was then diagnosed with myocarditis. He had recovered from covid earlier:

Very interesting stuff. Doubt we’ll know the full long-term consequences for a long time. Thanks for sharing your story Nick!

In basketball terms, Tyrese Haliburton looks like a total stud :(

I think Ainge did too. I think our targets were him or Deni Avdija and Nesmith was the  best available once we failed to trade up or have one of them drop.

Yeah, me too. I liked Wiseman. I liked Edwards. But those guys were unattainable. But the guy I really loved was Haliburton. I thought in 4 years he could be viewed as the best player coming out of this draft. I really wasn't a fan of any of the other guys between Wiseman and Haliburton and was very happy to see Nesmith still available.

And the Nets collapse has begun.....Muhaha

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Hayward with a throwback 1-11 first half tonight.
