Something to keep an eye on regarding NBA players as the season progresses:

30% of college athletes who recovered from covid have heart damage.
"Recent studies have raised concerns of myocardial inflammation after recovery from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), even in asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic patients."
"myocarditis is typically caused by a viral infection with symptoms ranging from chest pain, fatigue, shortness of breath, to a negative impact on heart rate and rhythm as seen in conditions such as arrhythmias."
After my bout with Covid, I have struggled through myocarditis the last couple months. Felt good for a while and then, man, I didn't. Had to shut down all physical activity, which my doc said I can't start up again until next month. Heart disease is not something that's in my family history, so this was scary. I'm a 55 year old man and it was frightful. I can't imagine a young athlete getting it.
That's definitely scary. Very sorry to hear that Nick, thanks for sharing it. I hope you recover completely from it soon. It's really good that your doctor is on top of it and monitoring and avoiding you on it though.
Once I shut things down, it get progressively better during the day, but when I got vertical, the racing heart, shortness of breath and chest tightness set in. It was beyond scary lying down, trying to get sleep and feel your heart pounding so strong.
Feeling much better now, almost three months post diagnosis, but still a bit anxious about starting to exercise again, even with a now fairly clean bill of health.
I can't imagine being a young elite athlete and feeling these things.
Anyway, back to basketball....
