Wonder who they will have to cover for Mike Gorman on occasion. Mike has missed calling some games for NBC Sports Boston especially during back to backs in different cities. Scal is the color analyst, I don't know how good he would be doing play by play.

Sean Grande is the man. He's long overdue for the leap to TV.

I know every sport has a play by play guy for TV and radio, but does TV really need one for every game? I would love to hear a Scal and Perkins broadcast, if Mike needs some time off.

Wasn't that the experiment that TNT was doing with Players Only? I think the results were pretty mixed on that.

As I recall, the results ran the gamut from "horrible" to "unspeakable."  Those broadcasts were (IMO) like trying to watch a game at a bar while two uninteresting people sat by the TV and laughed and shouted incessantly about uninteresting stuff they did together years ago.  And one of them was always Greg Anthony.

I like Scal and Perk, but I think they are better on a podcast or TV show separate from the live game, except perhaps in small doses with someone like Mike to bring focus back to the game now and then.
Yep, I'd love us to have a former coach next to Mike (just like Tommy). A guy who can actually read the game on the fly and make in-depth comments.

Scal could probably pull off the play by play in a pinch at this point.
Yup

Thank the lord. Draper was miserable.

Yeah, this is great news! Can they take Semi along with him?

Drapes was cringey AF and when they were testing him out as play by play I turned the volume off. Who's taking his seat?
ok fine

I’ll miss his positive energy and nice chemistry with everybody. I always thought he had a great vibe and never took himself too seriously when bantering with Scal, etc. Good luck to Drapes!

He’d come play pickup basketball at a gym near Burlington. Fiery on the court, much different than his TV persona. Good dude, wish him well

I believe Grande did some TV play by play last season with Scal on the Sacramento game.

  • Ashy To Classy, baby.
I sold him steaks once. Cool shoes. Super lame commentator.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

Another asset gone without anything coming back in return. Word on the street is Brad was too nice to him in off-the-record interviews. We need a serious front office and coaching shakeup before Tatum leaves next.

Bon voyage. I’ll always remember him trying to make JB’s nickname “the Poet”. LOL.

But in all seriousness, good luck to him. Big step up in his career. Maybe they can bring back Abby Chin now.

LOL. TP.
