Heat adding vets for another run...Avery seems like he will fit in well with that team.

Yeah, good deal for Miami.

That's a really good deal.

Why is it a good deal?

Avery Bradley is not the secondary creator at PG that Miami need and not the 3 point shooter that they need at SG.

Looks to me they made another move that is sapping away at their team identity / atypical style of play that (1) makes them so difficult to play against (2) punch above their weight.

And why is Avery at this stage of his career being paid more than the minimum? I don't get that either.

Sheesh.

too much or too little?

I think its a bit much for him. He's a fine enough player but $85m for a 6'2" off guard who isn't super efficient seems like a questionable investment.

It is a ridiculous amount of money for Van Vleet. He is an MLE player. That contract is going to kill them.

Shams Charania: Free agent guard DJ Augustin has agreed to a three-year, $21M deal with Milwaukee, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. – via Twitter ShamsCharania

Where’s Milwaukee getting the money for both DJ and Portis?  S&T?

Terrible signing. He is a 3rd stringer who should be making minimum wage.

I guess he's their Ersan upgrade.

Portis is a downgrade. That guy is a dummy who hasn't developed his offensive game enough to be a full time PF or his defensive game enough to be a full time C.

Milwaukee is at best just swapping deck chairs here with these two signings and more honestly / likely has gotten worse.

Baynes and Giles are still on the board
Baynes is solid, knows our system, plays hard nosed D.
Don’t know much about Giles but it looks like he is capable of putting up good numbers.

Is Giles healthy? He could barely get minutes on a poor Kings team.

So we lost Hayward for nothing, we traded away one of our backup centers to Portland.

If we can't grab Baynes or some other decent big, I worry we will be taking a major step back next year.
Right now, if you have Kemba, Smart, Brown, Tatum and Theis starting, our complete bench is all recent draft picks, kids.

Except for Smart, our complete bench is kids.

I would've really liked Mason Plumlee or Robin Lopez. Shame they are already gone to other teams.

Short money with apparently a team option for year 2 for a veteran, defensive minded player who should complement their guard rotation quite well?   I certainly don't see anything wrong with that.
