Anyone find it strange that we haven't heard of Tatum's extension yet, even though it's widely expected? I wonder if Danny is just too busy and preoccupied with the Hayward deal and has let Tatum's camp know that they'll get to it after the Hayward ordeal is settled.

when is Tatum up for an extension?

So Wood is likely going to Houston, but not locked in? Weird

He’d be great as an offensive small ball 5 there.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

The "Hayward might come back to Boston" rumor is a lie leaked by Ainge to try to pry more assets out in a trade. Leverage basically

Ainge said his priority in free agency is getting a wing. He accidentally revealed then thst Hayward is gone

Between Danny and Mike Zarren and the rest of the front office, there's likely plenty of agreements in place without "leaks".

I know in the age of social media, we think we're supposed to know everything a player thinks at all times. But maybe we'll find out when we find out.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Maybe the order of operations matters for maintaining cap space for moves? They may have to do Tatum's transaction last to preserve room for other moves.

THIS excitement is really getting anti-climatic. Nothing short of Hayward S & T to LA for Anthony Davis will justify this!!!

The extension won't make a difference, it doesn't come into effect until next summer.

It might matter if we were trading him, but I won't even consider that (and I don't think Danny would either)
I'm bitter.

Tatum's extension starts next season.  It has no affect on this season's cap.

Good to know. Then they should just get it done

Not sure what he has left.  He's still an adequate defender, but he no longer even looks at the rim on offense.  Against us, he was a negative.

Perhaps the order matters with other moves, but don't think it matters for Tatum, as his extension wouldn't kick in until next year.

I'm guessing both sides already know Tatum's getting everything and will deal with making it official once the other ducks are lined up in a row.
