Ainge says Romeo Langford is still in a cast and won't be ready for the start of training camp in a couple of weeks. Unsure what timeline is.

is the injury the same from pre draft? or something else happened?

He seems to get injured in the most bizarre ways. I think this is the one where he tore ligaments in his wrist.

This is not new news. This was understood when he underwent surgery during the ECF.

Since Danny mentioned it today, it’s new enough. ;)

He was hurt when, mid-Sept?  So not totally surprising.

Still have to imagine, barring any setbacks, he'll be back by early 2021 even if they ease him in.

More minutes for Nesmith and Pritchard then?

Of course he won't be ready. And whenever he IS ready, he'll get injured again within a few weeks.

I'd be cool with that, but I doubt Langford will provide that value.

I am going to offer a different take, based on no more than the takes presented above.  Durability may well be an issue for Langford but at this point, it is way to early to give up on him.  He just turned 21 at the end of October.

When he did play last season, his rookie season, and coming off, yes, injury (meaning not full participation is training camp), he played well and showed he is a NBA talent.  I am not giving up on Romeo but the clock is ticking.  This season is not make or break for him though.  There is still opportunity to be patient.  He has shown enough to warrant some patience.

FWIW, this injury is his right wrist.  The previous injury was his right thumb.  Not sure if there is a medical connection or if these are completely different.
