He made about $750k per game in Boston.
You think that's bad, try figuring out how much GSW are paying Klay Thompson per game for last year and this year.

$68 million/ 0 games.

You can't even figure it out without advanced math.

And yet I don't feel bad at all for GSW, but I feel terrible for Klay.

It's a good reminder why you can't blame guys for taking the big contracts when they can get them. Gordon knows this all too well too.

Signing with the Knicks or hawks over staying in Boston? Can’t see it. Has to be something else

If either of those two give him a 4 year deal at the max that they can offer thats incentive enough, he won out. Same situation as Horford, you go for the money if someone throws it at you.

That contract would be toxic in a year

I just don't see how he fits (what should be) the timeline for ATL or NYK, if they are building properly that is.

Atlanta was going after Rondo and Galinari so I guess they dont care about timelines, and the Knicks are the Knicks...
A team of:
Trae Young / Rajon Rondo
Kevin Huerter / Cam Reddish
Gordon Hayward / De'Andre Hunter
John Collins / Danilo Gallinari
Clint Capela / Onyeka Okongw

Is actually a cool team. I'd like to watch them

Yeah I like the potential for a year or two. But they aren't building anything going that route.

10th seed playoff team

They would need to figure out the Collins/Capela/Okongwu thing and when healthy Hayward/Gallo/Rondo make them playoff caliber. But how long will those three be healthy and productive at the same time? Without them the team is probably worse than 10th seed.

Will miss him if he goes.

"IF" he's gone then that's Kyrie, Al and NOW GH......

It's not the end of the world but this team IS at a crossroads right now.

I guess it's All In for The Jays, Kemba and Smart. Not a bad group AT ALL right there but our window for ERROR just shrunk without GH.

I don’t agree we are at a crossroads.  Disappointing, sure, but we still have Tatum (22) and Brown(24).  They’re both still getting better.  Our future is bright.

Oh, no doubt our future IS bright - I agree with that.

But GH offered quite the cushion for BOS with his playmaking, scoring, shooting, rebounding, solid D.....

If he's gone then this is The Jays team, exclusively. They will need to take the next step and provide what GH did for us.

If we get nothing for Hayward I think I shop Kemba.

Go all out young talent
The Celtics got to the ECFs in the playoffs without Gordon. No need to purge all the vets. Actually what Boston needs is more vets and less youth.

Trading Kemba for more youth would seriously hurt this team's chances of being a contender right now

The main argument for moving Kemba was to keep Hayward. It's not so smart if we lose Hayward, unless another team wants to do something stupid.

I'm kind of fine with whatever happens from here. If Hayward signs a deal with the Hawks or Knicks then his priorities aren't where I want a Celtics' priorities to be so I won't miss him.

If it's a sign & trade, cool, I hope it brings back some nice players.

Can he still come back on a new, longer deal or is that totally out the window now? If it's still on the table, cool, he's a good player.

This is exactly where I’m at. I *really* don’t see him going to uncompetitive situations in ATL or NYC just for the money. That doesn’t fit with his character, but if that’s what he ends up doing then good riddance, as that means his head clearly isn’t in the right place for us and the role he’d be playing for us.

If it’s Indy, that’s completely understandable. Not only would he go home and get done long-term security, but they’d still be a competitive team. We’d also benefit from that S&T too.

So I’m still thinking it’s a S&T with Indy.

One other factor to consider here - isn’t it technically illegal right now to be discussing S&T deals before free agency? Wouldn’t surprise me in the least given this issue, the Boggy situation, abd the lower overall likely starting number for Hayward in a S&T if both Boston and Indy have been decided to just keep it hush-hush for now until tomorrow.

irving, hayward, horford.   don't even get me started on the bad deals ainge made after the championship.   dude is happy being a loser.    we need a new set of eyes on this thing to get us to a title.  also, this nerd coach can go too.   he's scared of nba players.

Tatum's improved playmaking was a real surprise to me. Brown is still improving also. But yes, a secondary playmaker is a need right now, unless skyrocketing Tatum's usage is the plan.

Need to either re-sign Hayward or find a way to get pieces for him that make sense.

Another development. NYK doesn’t seem to be the destination.

I don't get the Semi hate.

He hits threes at 38%. He hits corner threes at an elite 45%. He is a top notch defender at the 3/4 positions. He is a good 10th man in the rotation guy for under $2 million a year.

If you are expecting him to dribble/drive the lane, be an exceptional passer, or draw fouls to get to the line, yeah, you will be disappointed but that's not his game. He plays a role and he does it very well for his pay grade.

My guess is Semi will be a better all around player next year than either first rounder Ainge just took. And if Ainge doesn't think so, picking him up as salary filler for a trade is a good thing.

Just don't understand the moaning and groaning of making the absolute right move in picking up Semi's option.

Hope he gets traded. He couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a boat.
