Need a big shot...?
Call Robert "Big Shot Bob" Horry!
Interesting question - who is better as starting PF - Robert Horry or Clifford Robinson?
It's close. Not much in it between the two of them.
I think my third string PF, Bob Love, is better than both.
Also an interesting question. Fair question.
Man, Bob Love could've been a starting PF in this league. Or a high end bench PF. Certainly that. I like him better than primary backup PFs.
Love would translate well to today's game as a small-ball type PF. That SF-PF flexibility he had helps his value greatly in adapting to today's league.
Yeah, I'm leaning towards Bob Love over both Horry & Uncle Cliffy. Great draft pick.
Horry was no where near the player that Uncle Cliffy or Bob Love were. Horry was basically a bench role player for much of his career. He came up big in big moments, which is absolutely useful, but overall skill not even in the same stratosphere as those other guys.
Love and Robinson are just different types of players. Robinson is one of the few players in history that filled all of the stat categories. He was a superb steal generator and solid shot blocker. He could pass, rebound, and score. He was an excellent shooter for his era, and would have been even better today. Love is the more classic old school PF. Good interior scorer, solid rebounder, great foul shooter (for a big man), etc. As a starting PF on a regular team, you might prefer Love to Robinson, but in this setting I'd take Robinson every single time. His versatility just makes him uber valuable on these all star type teams.
