Gus Johnson was the #10 pick in 1963. Not eligible.

2nd pick of 2nd round but 10th overall. Only 8 teams.

Somebody will have to pick someone else.
Good catch Who.
When the pick was made and I went to enter it on my board, I checked and didn't have Gus Johnson on my list of eligibles, but I had missed some others, so thought nothing of it.
Same here! Didn’t even think to check ;D

Oof my bad. I'll go with Cliff Hagan.
Your team has a very distinct old school vibe. Nice stuff!

In a meeting will do write up later but taking Kiki Vandeweghe to fill the Peja role on my bench. Probably 87 when led league in 3 point shooting.

Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah

I have the last pick of this round, but I’ll be heading to sleep before then. So when I miss my slot don’t worry! I’ll make both picks tomorrow

Yeah I did a bit of scouting regarding players from those eras. Came away impressed - lots of players whose games would translate to the modern game decently. Hagan is one of them - tough as nails forward who pummeled opposing forwards with his hook shot, jumpshooting, leaping ability and passing. Massive playoff performer too, he kept on saving Pettit's derriere in the playoffs except for that one game in the '58 finals where Pettit went off for 60 points.

Meeting over, so write up on the Raptors 7th round selection Kiki Vandeweghe

Played when 3 point shooting wasn't all the rage like it is now, but led the league in shooting at 48.1% in 87 (just 1 attempt - the league average that season was 30.1% and teams only shot 4.7 a game).  That season he averaged 26.9 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 2.8 apg and also shot 52.5% from 2 and 88.6% from the line (and led the league in TOV% at a ridiculously low 7.3%).  While he was a SF most of his career, he also played a fair amount at PF, so we like that versatility.  He will obviously be in at the end of games when the Raptors need a shot, but we mostly like the fact that him and Peja are basically stylistically similar so that there won't be a noticeable change in role for the SF slot no matter who is in the game.  That was Kiki's last healthy year and I do wonder what the Blazers might have been like had he been able to stay healthy during Clyde's prime.

So the Raptors can now boast perhaps the two best shooting and most lethal SF's that were available in the game and two guys that can bomb with the best in history.

I know next to nothing about Hagan. Given that he's 6'4'', do you think he could defend opposing Forwards in today's game? Or will you move him down one spot at SG?

With my 7th round pick, I'll take our old friend and the contract that got us Brown and Tatum

Gerald Wallace

I unfortunately will not be taking his Celtics years and instead will take his 09-10 season where he shot over 37% from 3 and made the NBA All Defensive First Team
