Meeting over, so write up on the Raptors 7th round selection Kiki Vandeweghe.
Played when 3 point shooting wasn't all the rage like it is now, but led the league in shooting at 48.1% in 87 (just 1 attempt - the league average that season was 30.1% and teams only shot 4.7 a game). That season he averaged 26.9 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 2.8 apg and also shot 52.5% from 2 and 88.6% from the line (and led the league in TOV% at a ridiculously low 7.3%). While he was a SF most of his career, he also played a fair amount at PF, so we like that versatility. He will obviously be in at the end of games when the Raptors need a shot, but we mostly like the fact that him and Peja are basically stylistically similar so that there won't be a noticeable change in role for the SF slot no matter who is in the game. That was Kiki's last healthy year and I do wonder what the Blazers might have been like had he been able to stay healthy during Clyde's prime.
So the Raptors can now boast perhaps the two best shooting and most lethal SF's that were available in the game and two guys that can bomb with the best in history.
