Meeting over, so write up on the Raptors 7th round selection Kiki Vandeweghe

Played when 3 point shooting wasn't all the rage like it is now, but led the league in shooting at 48.1% in 87 (just 1 attempt - the league average that season was 30.1% and teams only shot 4.7 a game).  That season he averaged 26.9 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 2.8 apg and also shot 52.5% from 2 and 88.6% from the line (and led the league in TOV% at a ridiculously low 7.3%)

That's because he never passed the ball!

Going with Long-Distance extraordinaire Rashard Lewis

6'10" SF/PF will provide quite the weapon for Nash and Gasol to look for.

That's a great pick. Rashard Lewis would be awesome next to Nash and M.Gasol. Gives you lineup flexibility at SF/PF. Able to play different styles. Matchup to opponent or force opponent to matchup to you.

Nice pick! I was considering him with my pick at the start of the 6th round. He would have been a great stretch 4 in today's game.

I love it. It was between Issel, one other guy and Jermaine O'Neal for my backup center slot. I was surprised all 3 were still available. I thought all of them would be off the board earlier.

I also love reuniting Issel with Artis Gilmore. That is awesome. I had the same thought when I considered Artis as a draft pick. That was one tough big man duo. Lot of muscle and physicality. Issel was undersized at center but the guy was a tank. That is a tough duo to combat any large-sized big man duo.

It’s funny that you say that, JO was my #1 target for my bench big.

As you mention in your last line, a lot of the thinking re drafting Issel was to address my need of a legitimate sizeable PF. Kirilenko is a great defender, but he wasn’t a powerhouse.

It helped that Issel was a walking double-double ;)

I had totally forgotten about Issel.  Definitely a solid player for those 80's Nuggets.

Just a heads up that I will be making my pick pretty early (as in quite soon). I’m not going to have the chance to make my pick live, and as I’m picking first I think it’d be a bit silly to bother sending a board to someone, lol.

I’m also going to add a poll to see if people want to do a coaches round at the conclusion of round 12. I’m not too fussed either way - could be fun, could be meaningless.

Not sure how much longer I’ll be up for, so I’m going to make my pick now ;D

To open the 8th round, the Memphis Grizzlies select...

The King of the Fourth, Isaiah Thomas!

Next picks aren’t due for ~2 hours, so there’s no rush GreenFaith!
