Tatum 5-18 and Smart 4-15 shooting is what hurt us tonight. I expect it from Smart, but Tatum didn't have it. I don't know if it's something the Raptors defense did or mainly Tatum being off, but even with that poor shooting the Raptors barely survived.
They both were atrocious. Missed bunnies, dumb shot, and stupid turnovers that made me wanna scream.

Yea, we forget Tatum is still super young and not an established superstar just yet. He still reverts back to some of his bad habits at times. I don't care of good shots don't drop that happens but stupid turnovers or over dribbling and throwing up an off balanced 3 that he airballed shots like that. Missed a lot of baskets going to the basket as well. Let's see how he responds.
Marcus I expect it from. He can go hot or cold from quarter to quarter never mind game to game.

How about that pass from kemba to theis though...unfortunate there was .5 seconds left.

The Celts made plenty of good plays under pressure on offense in a tight game at the end.  I feel like this was a good battle test for them and handled it well enough to win.  It won't kill them to learn that sometimes that's not enough.

Much rather be up 3-0 than learn a lesson.

Game 4 will tell us a lot about what kind of team they really are.  I believe they have the heart to respond well.
Yup

Brown is catching the heat for the breakdown, but I feel like our entire defense was just wrong there.  We somehow found ourselves at a numbers disadvantage and that just shouldn't happen.

Personally, with .5 seconds left I wouldn't guard the inbound guy.  Gives you 5 to defend 4, without enough time left to pass back to the inbound passer.  There are disadvantages to giving the passer a clear view of the entire court.  I just think that they're incredibly unlikely to find an open shot down a man with that little time left.  And that's 100% hindsight being 20/20 there.  Everybody has opinions when something goes wrong.

You are right. Brad got cute and we all paid.
This is the way I see it too. This was a terrible defensive call by Brad. This loss is on him

Yeah I mean who isn't p---ed after losing like that. Also Brad Stevens' fault for deciding to put Kanter in.

It was made especially brutal by Brad forcefeeding him down the stretch even though Kemba was on fire

From Nickagenta:

"Not getting the call for a zone when the team's switch everything, man to man defense has been so effective all series. Zones inherently leave someone open. Brad lost this in my opinion".

This - 100%...

Jaylen and Theis.  What are you doing?  they should have just let Van Vleet shoot as he would of had to do a turnaround 3 pt shot. Theis just standing there guarding nobody

really poor execution

And putting in Tacko.. I mean really? why?

CBS should have placed a different player  and not guard Lowry, be that extra D player to help guard others on the floor

Love it. Play with some fire G4

Brown and Tatum will play better

Tatum went 5-18.... that is unacceptable. Must be more efficient

Yes -- I am usually the last person to feel confident... always expect things are going to fall apart.  But C's have been the better team and I'll love it if this loss fires them up for a strong game on Saturday.

Okay here's the best explanation I've seen here. Theis and Tatum most end up covering van fleet, leaving gasol all alone in the paint except for Brown. Theis then feints back to gasol but too late. So either its a wide open Gasol look, or a contested three from OG.
