So we have a foul with no time on the clock last night and a shoot in .05 seconds tonight. The laws of physics have been suspended in the bubble!!!

Timelord and Kemba were the only people to show up for this game. Atrocious games by Tatum and Theis, and Brown with the most boneheaded decision of the year at the worst possible moment. What a disaster.

Brown had a fantastic game, and his defense has been the difference for us in this series. He's locked down Siakam all series long and has been aggressive on offense when we need it.

Brown once again proving he's only capable of on-ball defence. What a disgraceful defensive possession. Asleep at the bloody wheel

Not Brown's man, Ananoby belonged to Tatum and he let him go. Watch the replay (if you can stomach it).
We were playing zone

Jaylen has to help on the Gasol roll to the bucket, because they are down two with .5 am at rim tip in is a real threat. Then he has to recover all the way to the corner on a great pass. That wasn't a bad play by Brown, just a really good play by TOR.

Wrong

You let them have the two if they earn it but you never allow an open three.

Big difference between OT and a loss.
This ... no magic required, just defend the three at all costs.

I mean it seems silly to blame Jaylen when there are two guys on one side of  the floor who ended up guarding literally no one on that play.

I'm not blaming Brown specifically.  If all he was doing is covering for Tatum's mistake it's still a mistake in his part too.

In a previous post I said 'someone' blew their assignment.  Tatum or Brown, whatever.  But you can't leave the shooters.  Take the tie and go to OT.

Not getting the call for a zone when the team's switch everything, man to man defense has been so effective all series. Zones inherently leave someone open. Brad lost this in my opinion

This loss really sucks, but its one loss. We had been undefeated in the playoffs thus far and still looked like the better team tonight. Going in to the playoffs, did anyone honestly expect us to sweep our way to the ECFs?

Total joke. Completely brain-dead giving up a wide-open 3 in that situation. Toronto just turned the series around with one of the most outrageous endings to a game I’ve ever seen.

We’ll see how mentally strong our guys are moving forward. I am away for a short weekend trip and that shot just ruined my whole experience. Absolutely embarrassing...

They were playing a modified switch/zone scheme. It wasn't man-to-man defense. Jaylen just missed OG cutting over there because he was focusing on his own guy like he was playing man. Watch the replay. The rest of the team is switching everything - except for Jaylen. That was his side of the floor to cover.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Hope they act like they want to win next game.  Poor effort down the stretch

Guys, this one is on me.

I had been treating myself with fast food for every C's playoff game, and today I decided to forgo the indulgence.  C's are doing great, they didn't need my help tonight, I can break from ritual.  I had a proven system that was working, why did I deviate?  Sorry ya'll.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Yeah, his defense was definitely the difference tonight, especially on that last shot...

Yeah, clearly someone has an anti-Brown bias if they think he didn't have a tremendous game.

19 points, 12 rebounds, 4 blocks and easily the player playing the best defense on the team.

Agree. On a play like that it literally needs to be an instant catch and shoot. As long as each man is somewhat covered it is going to be very, very hard to get a perfect pass/catch/shot off.

Play the odds and make sure everyone is covered, especially at the 3pt line.

Great game from Kemba.
JT didn't feel it on the offense today.
Jaylen was close to perfect guarding Siakam: I guess just about all shots Pascal made, he did against someone else.
Grant is +11, IMO Brad can give him additional time, kid is very reliable.
Next match will be telling)
