Seems like Tatum and Brown will pretty much be the end results of that trade.  Granted I’m a little giddy about how they look in the playoffs so far, but man, that’s a pretty sweet return if nothing else.  We have two really excellent and complimentary players.

The last high pick didn’t work out with Kyrie, but he was/is a special player.  Just not good for the situation.

All in all getting two future Celtics legends for two fading legends is pretty awesome.

Man I wish we could reverse that Kyrie trade.  Just take a time machine.  Tell Danny that Sexton would be fine at #8, but SGA is the real guy to draft.

I really hate the Kyrie trade because him going to Brooklyn was tantamount to handing Brooklyn back one of the picks.

I thought they'd suck for at least a decade after that horrible trade, but they somehow ended up with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.

Well sadly it was either we give a broken down IT4 his brinks truck or we get Kyrie in return. I just hated losing that BKN '18 pick. Didn't mind Jae Crowder and Ante Zizic and that second-rounder.

Tatum + Brown + Langford

I mean, we drafted Langford with the Kings pick, which we had acquired by trading the Nets 2017 pick.

The jury is still out on Langford. It's possible that he'll become part of our future core.

Smart - Langford - Brown - Tatum - Timelord

Seems like a promising future lineup, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

I can’t believe we’re about to pick 14 by giving up Jeff Green about 10 years ago LOL.

kyries failure brought us to get Kemba and horford walked cuz of the murkiness of kyrie situation

Imagine if we drafted sga , we probably Overpay to keep Average al

I like how everything worked out

He's still putting up decent numbers at the age of 33-34. Last night he played for 32 minutes vs the Thunder. He ended with a stat line of 22/6/4 on 8-12 from the floor!

So Chris Mannix had a tweet before the C's were officially out of the AD sweepstakes last summer:

https://twitter.com/SIChrisMannix/status/1138915360399351809

Quote
Boston's dilemma: Offer Tatum -- along with a package of young players and picks -- and New Orleans probably bites. But if Kyrie walks this year, Davis the next all the gains made in the Nets trade disappear.

I thought this was kind of ridiculous reasoning, because when you think about, how many trades are still paying off 6-7 years later?  Very, very few.  Like I would never consider it a negative if a trade stopped paying off after only 7 years (which is an eternity in NBA years), but apparently Mannix would.

But on the flip side, how awesome is it that that trade is indeed paying off 7 years later with no end in sight!  ;D

And then when you really think about, should we be thanking Danny or ML Carr?

ML Carr traded Eric Montross for Antoine Walker
Antoine Walker was traded for Raef Lafrentz
Raef Lafrentz was traded for Ratliff/Telfair
Ratliff/Telfair were traded for Garnett
Garnett was traded for Tatum/Brown.

So none of this is possible without ML Carr.

Thank you Danny or thank you ML Carr???

It was still a good move, just didn’t work out.  If it meant losing out on sexton, then no big deal.  Not to say we would have picked him (or sga), but what we gave up worked out as planned.

Problem is Kyrie was more wacko than we thought.

If Hayward doesn't get hurt, though, would we be saying the same thing? With everyone healthy, that team had some real championship potential.

Maybe the better move would he been making the Kyrie trade, but sending Crowder to a 3rd team  ;D
I'm bitter.
