NBA wanted a storyline of LeBron going up against his old team, where he won his first two championships.

And here they got it, killing them with injuries + quick work and a sweep incoming.

If this series continues apace with how it looked in Game 1, isn't the storyline going to be that Bron and AD cakewalked to a title without ever really facing a team equipped to give them a challenge?

Probably. In the same way the Lakers cakewalked in 2001 and 2009, Spurs in 2007, Warriors in 2017, no one will really care after a few weeks or so.

Yeah, despite all the hullabaloo about how special it would be to win it in the bubble, this is an empty trophy

I strongly disagree. It is a trophy that the best team in the league gets.
The fact that we don't like that team that gets it doesn't change anything at all.

i don't get the disrespect.... especially from  fanbase that complains about the lack of disrespect shown to Boston....

If the Lakers run over miami then we should be more concerned about getting eliminated by the Heat

Sixers-Raptors-Heat-Nuggets
VS
Blazers-Houston-Nugget-Heat

How much more difficult would have been our path ?!??! Not much if any at all

It's got nothing to do with it being the Lakers. If the Clippers had made the Finals without facing the Lakers, or the Bucks had made it without facing us or Miami, my point would be the same

This Finals is all but booked for LA.

Only way Fakers lose is an injury to either AD or Lefreak.

How on earth does Herro and Duncan R lool like the second coming of Curry and Klay in our series and then play like shheeesh in the Finals.

Heck I actually think we would have done better against them if GH is his normal self.
Its kinda frustrating because our guys seems to be satisfied just by reaching the conference finals.

He said it was a tough loss but he had fun with this group of guys this season. Come on, man. At no point did he say he was happy to lose.

Nuh uh, he loves to lose and he’s going to leave us for the Lakers!

Further proof that the Celtics are cursed. Dragic was key in beating the Celtics. So of course he gets injured, when he faces the Lakers in the Finals.

Except you remembered those years well enough to rattle them off just now.

It definitely is a narrative that sticks.

And for this one, it's not just an easy title round.

The road the lakers had to follow to get to the Finals was super easy as well. They faced one legitimately good team at anything close to full strength. They also never had to go on the road.
