Anyone else surprised that Miami was able to score so much on defensive juggernauts Brook Lopez and Drew Bledsoe?
It's absurd that these two made all-NBA defensive teams this season.
Agree
Lowry should have made it over Bledsoe
IMO it should have been Jrue
Agreed, but Bledsoe was contender for the selection. This surge of "hurr Lopez and Bledsoe are overrated defensively" reeks of winning bias, both were excellent in the regular season and weren't poor in the playoffs - if you're sceptical about their defence in the playoffs this season, both held strong against a strong Boston offence and the eventual champions last playoffs.
Well, regardless of whatever transpired in the playoffs, Lopez was unworthy of the award.
That someone as mediocre on defense as Lopez can be voted as 2nd team All-Defense on the strength of his team's overall defensive prowess is just so pathetic. The voters should be ashamed they aren't capable of anything more than superficial analysis. Lopez is replacement level on that end of the court, he is not elite or even above average.
This is basically the equivalent of Rhttps://forum.celticsstrong.com/Themes/celtic/images/bbc/italicize.gifay Allen being voted as All-Defense on the back of Garnett's otherworldly abilities. Giannis apparently is so good he can make a sieve look like a brick wall.
That comparison makes absolutely no sense - Lopez has become a fantastic rim protector in Milwaukee, he improved as a player. Sure Giannis was there as a free safety to help him out, but saying that Lopez is replacement level defensively leads me to believe that your outburst is an apt description of yourself.
Outburst? I'm not even sure what you are talking about here. My point was conveyed quite calmly and succinctly.
Anyways, if the best defense for your position is to levy personal attacks it seems pretty obvious you can't backup your position with logic. If that's the best you can do you should probably just move on.

Yes, a personal attack at the analytical abilities of voters without backing up your position without logical arguments but sweeping narratives such as "Brook Lopez is replacement level defensively" sure sounds like calmly and succinctly conveying a point.
But yeah, if your best defence for your position is to contradict your own posts and defending such contradictions by accusing others of personal attacks when they are pointed out, we should probably move on
