So I have one DPoY, why not add another? With the 4th pick of the 3rd round, the Denver Nuggets selects...

Draymond Green!!!
Love the complete opposite personalities you have at PF and C. Think Draymond would thrive in an environment like this where he can focus on passing and defence.

Is that Draymond next to Tim Duncan?
Yep, lol. Got one of the nicest NBA guys ever alongside a guy notorious for kicking guys in the downstairs.

Both contribute to winning though

That is funny. Two DPOYs and I'd rate Timmy D as a better defender than either one of them. Criminal that TD never got that award. Constantly overlooked for being so fundamentally / positionally sound on defense and not generating enough defensive highlight plays.

Back to the team (Poor Timmy!), what an incredible foundation - defensive structure and team passing on offense - to build the rest of the team around. I love what the Nuggets are doing.

The idea of Payton and Draymond barking at you all game would be pretty horrible I imagine

Screw it, I'm going for the best player available.

With the 5th pick in the third round, the Dallas Mavericks select Luka Doncic.

He's a bad fit next to LeBron, but imo he's a top 10 player in this draft (even at the age of 21). It amazes me that he was still on the board at #33!

The way I see it, there is only one legit GOAT candidate in this draft: LeBron James.

At the same time, there is only one guy with the potential to become a GOAT candidate in the future: Luka Doncic.

Not the easiest thing to make them coexist in the same team, but I'll see what I can do. Worst case scenario, I'll make a trade down the road. I would just hate myself if I passed on Luka for the second time, having already passed on him in the second round. It would be as if passing on 21-year-old LeBron/Larry legend.

I think Draymond early but understand people taking guys they like for fit.

Yeah and Draymond is a very easy fit into so many different possible star-studded teams

I was thinking about Luka as a late first. Best offensive player in the league today. Basketball savant. Makes everyone around him better.

Great value to get him in the 3rd.

I really wanted Doncic but I wasn't sure about his shooting and lack of playoff experience. Also Draymond and Duncan is unfair

I question Luka's fit alongside Bron pretty seriously, and the lesser season with no playoffs makes it hard to judge, but he's also my favourite non-Celtic right now, and IMO a top-3 offensive talent right now. Hard to make up my mind about that pic

Luka and LeBron, who in many ways have extremely similar games, both need the ball a LOT?!?! Well, it worked for LeBron in Cleveland the 2nd time around with someone that also needed the ball, so I guess it can work.

I thought Luka is where he should be. His talent is undeniable.

But yes, I do agree, the fit with LeBron James is a bit, well, weird.
