Not a huge fan of the Pierce pick this early. Imo the first round is used to stock up on MVP-level talent, but with Yoki's next pick coming up soon I think it'll turn out fine.
Yeah, I think who their next pick is will determine how I see this pick.

I don't think Pierce is that much of a reach here.   It's fine pick & easy to build around.
I had him early 2nd round so not a reach. Just early.

Yeah, I think we're starting to hit that personal preference zone.   The sure fires are gone, IMO.
I actually have a few more surefire MVPs left on my board with a bunch of fringe MVPs below them.

Yeah my #10 guy is still available who would be a lot of fun to build a team around

Looking to move up from 2(13) to an early 2nd round pick if possible.

I think there's a lot of guys you can poke holes in one way or another.  Even MVP types.

I expected that all the great wings would go early in the draft and that I would have been left with a tough choice, but it's pretty easy to me as I think the guy I'm going to take is possibly BPA. And this is a guy who'll be a positive on both ends of the court and can really make those around him better and he's also easy to build around.

The Miami Heat with pick 1(13) select Chris Paul

yeah, I dabbled around with a couple of guys, but it's hard not to fall in love with The Captain.

Especially his 2005-06 season, he's pretty much one of the best all-around players in that year.

I like this pick. His peak is MVP-level, but I think you need to build around him properly.

Yeah, but poking holes in them don't make them inferior players to Pierce.

Chris Paul had an amazing season in 2008.

Nobody had an answer for him.

Should've been MVP over Kobe.

The way I see it as there are plenty of players who were MVPs or near MVP level players in the real NBA but will see a drop-off in value in this Historical League when they have to share the ball more with more talented teammates / not have a team operate solely around their abilities & limitations.

A larger drop off than the first 11 guys taken who are more robust and dependable across different situations.
