I wanted Dunn. Was a bit worried when Ainge drafted Brown coz reports said he was an athlete not a basketball player. But I told myself that Ainge knows a lot more than I do so maybe Brown will work out. Then the Cavs game happened. Was fully behind Brown after that.

Wanted Fultz, the skill was there. I think if he wasnt injured he wouldve been a fine pick. But once news broke out that Ainge would trade the pick for Philly's no.3, I wanted Tatum and no one else. Was worried about the reports that they were trying to get Jackson for a workout.

Was on Murray bandwagon till the report on Brown's workout made me think Brown had more potential due to size and athleticism. I was okay with either.

Fultz trade I felt we could have got more was all. I wanted Tatum.

Good times lol

Would ainge be gone if that happened

Dunn isn’t the worst thing in the world but drafting fultz over Tatum would have been brutal for Us

Imagine the beating fultz would take in these boards if he performed like that for us

I was for Jaylen in that draft but I also thought Bender would be equally as good so.... :-[

I remember lots of posts wanting Bender:  and now we can just have Bender off the waiver wire.

I remember when so many wanted Bender in lieu of Brown.  Trust in Danny.

I'm not a big draft person and didn't know much about Brown but I remember watching some of Dunn's games and thinking "oh boy, looks like a poor man's John Wall".  A very poor man's apparently.

I would have either gone for the Butler trade or taken the proposed Philly trade.  Probably would have gone Bender had no trade happened.  Obviously Brown has worked out pretty darn well, but I do wonder how differently Bender ends up if he is in Boston and not in Phoenix (or Brown wherever he ended up).  The team you go to often shapes your entire career.  I mean does Brown end up like Josh Jackson if he is in Phoenix?  Does Bender end up more like Jaren Jackson if he is in Boston?  Who knows, but they'd likely be a lot different on different teams.  Organizational competence is critically important to player development and in that Boston is one of the best and Phoenix is one of the worst.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

If I recall Bender was a high risk/potentially high reward draft pick, some people thought he could possibly be the next Porzingis or even Dirk. I had zero interest in the Celts drafting him, he looked like a bust to me.

But I agree, who knows how Bender would've developed as a Celtic, we'll never know.
