Good times lol

Would ainge be gone if that happened

Dunn isn’t the worst thing in the world but drafting fultz over Tatum would have been brutal for Us

Imagine the beating fultz would take in these boards if he performed like that for us

I was for Jaylen in that draft but I also thought Bender would be equally as good so.... :-[

Regarding '16, tt certainly wasn't everyone when it came for Dunn.  There were camps on this board for a lot of guys that year.  Bender, Dunn, Hield, Murray, Jaylen, even Chriss.

The board was pretty divided.   There were vocal opponents of all of them too. Bender probably moreso than the others but it was a bit contentious.

It was very splintered.

I would add that most people who wanted Dunn wanted him in order to trade him for Butler, not to keep him

I admit I was pulling for Buddy Hield, I barely knew who Jaylen Brown was at the time.

same. A lot of the draft experts had brown picked around 9 I think. There was some disappointment on these boards because of that it seemed Danny was reaching. Boy were they wrong. I’m gonna go back and read the 2017  draft night thread right now  lol

It was Simmons, Ingram, and then a consensus next 6 that definitely included Jaylen (Hield, Murray, Bender, Chriss, Dunn were the others). Very few, if anyone, had him ranked as low as 9.

Yep, I will admit to wanting to trade for Butler at the time. Jaylen was booed - not because people hated the pick, but because we didn't trade for Butler and went forward with making the pick. This was supposedly the reported deal:

Johnson reported this weekend that one set of chats involved Crowder, the No. 3 pick and the No. 16 pick in last week's draft for a package highlighted by Butler.

I am super-happy with the way Jaylen has come along and he appears to be just about at his level now, with room to grow; but it's not like those in favor of that deal were crazy or anything.

Me too!  I was vacillating between those two.  Good thing Danny makes the decisions.   But I never had any interest in trading the pick for Butler.

I was sadly all-in on Fultz, oops! Definitely got caught up in the hype of finally having a #1 pick, lol.

I was actually quite happy with Brown, because I wasn't entirely sure trading for Butler was the best thing

I thought Danny was getting too cute with that trade at the time and should've just made the [dang] pick.

I was also completely split between Jackson & Tatum.

I was on the Murray train. Hield was elderly in comparison and it turns out he was even a year older than we originally thought.

Did not like the Jaylen pick at the time. I still like Murray but Jaylen has proven his worth.

Man, forgot all about Jackson. When he spurned DA I became completely anti-him. He has been really really awful this year.
