Miami has agreed to trade Justise Winslow, Dion Waiters and James Johnson to Memphis for Andre Iguodala, Solomon Hill and Jae Crowder, league sources tell ESPN. No picks in the deal.
And no picks?
Memphis taking a risk with an often injured Winslow
Great trade for Miami, I think they are the clear #2 in the east right now
Why exactly. I am not sure they did anything in that trade that made them better than Toronto or Boston.
Yeah, more just shuffling the deck chairs. I definitely think the Iggy for Winslow part of the deal was a downgrade for MIA, but they probably got a slight upgrade with Crowder/Hill. Still, while I am not a fan of Waiters, the dude can light it up when he is feeling it. It's always good to have somebody on your bench who can win you a playoff game from downtown.
If they somehow acquire Gallinari without giving up any of their 'core', then that could be a scary move, but it's possible Crowder might be the replacement for Gallo.
I don’t think Crowder is a replacement for Gallo. Crowder and Hill both came up as being included in this trade on Twitter last night, before the Gallo portion was even mentioned. Also, why would Memphis take on additional bad salary to get rid of useful players if they weren’t part of the additional structure?
If the Gallo portion comes to fruition, I expect it to be Myles Leonard and Olynyk going to OKC, Gallo to Miami, and Andre Roberson plus a 2nd round pick to Memphis, with the Heat also removing protections on at least one pick they owe to OKC.
