I don't understand Denver's motivation. They are giving up better players than they are getting back. They got loads of depth already. Too much depth. Why are they taking back guys who won't crack their rotation?
Are the players they're giving up really that good? It's a pretty nothing move for them, but Beasley and Juancho are both having quite poor years, and Vanderbilt isn't in the rotation. I think Shabazz and Vonleh are both solid bench pieces, and they have no first round pick this year. Might be wanting to try and replace Torrey Craig with a first round wing
They are both solid rotation guys. Hernangomez is shooting badly this year but he was very good last year. He is a guy I'd like to see in Boston. Size, shooting combo forward. Useful. Malik Beasley is a solid two way wing. Again, useful.
I don't see anything in the players they are getting back. Napier is a 3rd string PG. Vonleh is a 3rd string PF. Diop showed flashes on defense but offensively has struggled. Not a rotation caliber either. Gerald Green is the best of the bunch and he is a defensive sieve. A late first from Houston? Is that all?
I just don't get it.
Why give up two young (23yo & 24yo) useful rotation players? For more depth 10-15? Denver are already one of the deepest teams in the league. They have too much depth. Need to consolidate. Improve their top 5-6 guys.
And why would you want a bunch of role players from Minnesota? Their lousy supporting cast is a big reason why they keep losing so much. Why target a team with such an inept supporting cast?
It doesn't make any sense to me.
I don't understand what they are trying to do here.
