Did TL get hurt? He didn't play 2nd half.

was wondering the same. maybe the knee soreness returned?

He was needed tonight. I hope he's not hurt.

He was getting abused in the pick-and-roll. That's been one of his weaknesses. His position is mostly off and it allows easy buckets with crafty offensive players. When the Cs stayed with Theis, G. Williams, and Tatum, they were able to disrupt the pick-and-roll and stall the Warriors' offense (except for Burks' Harden-esque free throw game).

I’ll go back and look. I didn’t notice that. G Williams was getting beaten a lot in 1st half.

It looked to me that GSW were owning the paint and driving at will all game. GSW shot 34 free throws. They were clobbering the Celtics inside. I didn't think Kanter was a better option over TIMELORD.

ya I mean Theis and Kanter were getting called for fouls basically every other drive. Maybe Brad viewed that as more of an officiating issue but I dont think RWIII would have been worse than our inside defense already was this game.

How many times did Williams get vertical to challenge a play around the rim, and then absorb the contact without getting a foul called? I think I saw him do that three times this game. That kid is an unbelievable team defender for his age. What a luxury to bring him off the bench! Those are elite plays. I look forward to when the rest of his game can develop out so he can get more playing time.

Brad said he hurt his ankle - wanted to go back in but Brad didn't want to take any chances with it.

Well, that makes sense.

Can we please for the love of God not question Tatum's future after tonight.

I mean he was kind of bad, even if he did make two key plays down the stretch.

Why 8 for 23 shooting isn't bad. 2 assists. He's still young yet.

8-23 is kind of bad. Missed two bunnies in the fourth that if he doesn't make the big play in the end would have cost the game. Its not a bad game by any means, he also had three steals and got to the line seven times. Very mixed bag, only 1 assist btw.

If you mean the two driving layups on the left side, I think he was fouled both times and that's why he missed.
Also, on the big jump ball play, I think Smart saw it coming and told Tatum what to do.  If you watched he whispered in his ear just before the jump.  It was clear he was telling him something an Tatum seem to give it the ok.

Maybe. But given how poorly he  has finished in the paint this year he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt from me on those kind of plays. I think you are right about the second part, Smart is a.... smart player.

There you go, makes sense. Hopefully this isnt an issue going forward. Seems like he's injured a lot, even tho he has actually played 9 of 11 games this year.

cmon who are we kidding 8-23 is bad, it is 35%, which for a player of Tatum's ability is really bad.

Felt the refs were bad and favored the warriors with a lot of calls yet the C's came out on top. Game could have been different if Russell didn't get hurt.

The team needs to work on its defensive rotation and boxing out. They also need to run more system plays. Seems too often it is just guys trying to get the ball in their spots and create vs setting up open looks for guys. We need better commitents to open catch and shoot with less sloppy drives.

I'm glad they fought through the refs, bad shooting and miscues. Great resolve.
