I think we're the only team in the league with 3 guys averaging 20+.

C's shot 56.5%. That will get it done. Cavs shot 41.7%... pretty amazing it was only a 6-pt game.
Speaks to the Celtics problems at the 4-5. They are a far more talented team than Cleveland, yet the Cavs had a big advantage at the 4-5 with Love and Thompson.  Plus John Beilein is proving, so far at least, to be a solid NBA coach.

The C's would have pulled away a bit more if Theis could finish, but he can't.  Until he's able to do that, he'll never be a consistent NBA starter though he's doing it here by default because he defends.  This is a game where Kanter could have made a huge difference, but that said, credit the Cavs with putting up some fight and the Celtics benefiting from a huge Hayward perfance along with solid efforts from Tatum and Kemba.

I think its more than that. The Cavs rebounded very well where Kanter wouldve helped but our perimeter defense has been bad this game.
I think the open looks Cleveland was getting on the perimeter had a lot to do with Brad being concerned about getting torched inside by Love and Thompson.

I think we lose this game if Kanter played Theis' minutes. The Cavs stayed in the game because they took their time in the pick-and-roll game. I think Kanter would have struggled a lot.

I think the best is yet to come for this club. The new guys and the young guys will figure things out and we'll be a force.

The Cavs bigs put pressure on big guys on the roll. I thought our bigs stayed too deep to guard the roll man, and couldn't deter the ball-handler long enough for the ball-handler's defender to get back in position.

Credit those young guards. They did a good job pushing the issue and getting good looks out of that action.

Grant Williams' height hurt him tonight. He had to stay further back to protect the roll man.

Robert Williams looked out of position a few times, but then other times looked alright. I saw positives from him tonight that gave me hope that he could be a starter by the end of the year if he stays hungry.

Theis was serviceable. Good game from him, but I'm not hopeful about his ability to anchor our defense in big games.

Tatum played tall tonight. That was good, but they still don't quite trust him to play bigs. That's probably for the best, but it would be nice to have that flexibility in small spurts.

I really think the refs kept the Cavs in the game tonight, but the Cav players played hard. They didn't roll over like they did in the preseason. That's a positive sign.

I think its a bit worrying that Jaylen has defended the 4s better than Jayson so far. Good thing is he is just 21 so hopefully he can improve on that as his career goes on.
Look at the difference in them physically. Jaylon's got about 20 lbs more muscle.

Theis got clobbered all game but could buy a call.

Which is an indictment on Tatum. How're you still around 220 pounds as a 6'8 forward? Even guys like George are 235 or so.

-Wanamaker sucks. He's selfish, reminds me of a very undersized Mook, except he's supposed to be our point guard out there.
I'm not a real Wanamaker fan, but I thought he was decent tonight.  Played some good D, hit a couple of shots and didn't throw the ball away like he has in other games this season.  I wish they could do a little better than him - and maybe they will if Edwards can give them some consistency but I really thought tonight was the best I've seen Wanamaker look so far this season.

The good thing, wannamker is expendable so if the rooks play their way into the rotation, it wont be much of a problem.0

Might need to watch a couple episodes of that show. Love the wacky 70's vibe. Just saw a few episodes of "Taxi" for the first time recently. Good times.

I didn't think rebounding was the primary problem. It was the ball-handlers in pick-and-rolls compromising the defense and getting good looks. Kanter would have given up easier looks.

I dont disagree, I pointed it out in one of my post that I think the perimeter D was bad. However, rebounding was part of the problem this game, the Cavs got a lot more shots due to offensive boards.
