Carsen reminds me of Jimmer Fredette..can score but nothing else..and i rather have Jimmer
Obviously people hating on this take but I don’t think it’s far off.

My thing wit my Edwards is this.  The shots he takes are shots that pretty much any guard in the nba can take.  Anyone can pull up from 30.  Now, does Edwards make more than other players taking those shots?  Perhaps.  But that doesn’t make them good shots.

It’s like when a coach gets upset at a player for taking a shot early in the clock that the team could get at anytime instead of working the offense.

So as a spot up shooter that takes shots in rhythm, I think Edwards could be useful.  As the gunner he came in to the league as, not so much.  I’m not really a huge fan.

I think part of his issue is that he's trying to be that hot hand when he comes in rather than getting his shots more in the flow of the game/offense.   I'd rather see him take a couple of minutes on the court to get in the flow if that's what it takes for him to find his offense.  we've seen during the preseason and summer league what he can do when he's hot.  I'm sure we'll see him get there during the season but right now he's struggling.

As he is a better little athlete/quicker than Fredette maybe he will adapt his game to the NBA. He may defend better and have more motor than Fredette which is not hard. In that case he will become a gunner used rihtfull out of the Bench when he is hot.
Good to have this hopes on this young rotation guys, with some already polished capacities. A funny year to come maybe, with expecting the unexpected after such a disapointing year !

I think Carsen's shot will fall eventually, he's just got to get used to the speed of the game.

His shooting is real.  Lots of great shooters struggle at first then find their rhythm.

I don't think he's as one dimensional as Jimmer Fredette.

Like, ....obviously...just about every guard I've seen play the NBA can hit 8 3's in a quarter. Must happen over 200x a season???

He’s pressing and taking a bunch of bad shots. I think he needs to ride the bench more and continue to develop his confidence in practice or do some reps in the G League.

Trae Young struggled and became better as the season came along. Carsen will be an asset when the playoff arrive. He can play D, Jimmy can not!

The guy is clearly a rhythm shooter. It's hard to get into a rhythm when you have no idea when you're going to play and for how long.

Carsen will be at least Korver version. But I expect more.

He's already a much better defender (I know, not saying much compared to KK) and as a PG clearly a better ball handler.

Korver made his living making 3s at very high rate. That has kept him the league for 16-17 seasons. Not his handing ,playmaking , defense  or whatever ....

So saying that player X is better than Korver pretty much means he is better shooter than Korver. Everything else is irrelevant in this context.

Having said that if Edwards can make 3s at a 38% rate i'd be happy

DJ Augustine-type player. Not good enough too start. Too dynamic to keep on the bench.

Sure I suppose, if you want to limit the discussion in that way.  The point I was responding to was that he could be better than Korver.  In what way?  Korver is one of the best dead-eye shooters in the last 20 years.  Will he be better in that way? I doubt it, but I do think he will be better and I listed some attributes in which he could be better.
