Sixers getting absolutely thrashed by the Heat tonight on the road. Next is another road game, against MIL.

I thought they were one of the two best teams in the East going into the season, but man they are really looking like a 5-6 seed. About to fall to 9-18 on the road.

Also in this game, Tobias Harris with 6 points in 25 minutes. Jimmy Butler? 38/7 in 29 minutes
Brown has gotta be on the hot-seat, right?

Maybe Embiid / Simmons on the block too?

Brown is 100% getting fired soon.

And I still maintain my prediction that, IF the Sixers don't reach the ECF this season, they are making a big trade (meaning 1 of Embiid/Simmons). Curious to see who they decide to keep and build around if it comes to that.

Smart to keep Embiid and deal away Simmons. He's clearly the better player on that team.

Maybe, but Embiid has a far greater injury risk and honestly, it seems like there are stretches where he just doesn't care. PHI actually seems to play better with Simmons on the court and Embiid out (though yes, Simmons is obviously flawed himself).
it's a tricky situation for them.  Simmons seems to make everyone on the court better but is not a go-to guy when you need points down the stretch of a close game.  Embiid can get you those close-game points or carry a team on offense but doesn't necessarily make his teammates better (other than making the opposition focus on him and loosening things up for teammates).

considering how much I hate the mockery they made of the league by selling off all their assets to suck for years to try to get lucky in the draft repeatedly, I feel no sympathy for them and am enjoying their misery.   hope they need to blow it up in the offseason and stink even worse next year

Imaging maxing Tobias Harris because you didn't want to pay Jimmy Butler. Who is dramatic and can't currently shoot but is always one of the biggest on-court positives in the NBA every single year.

Funny because there were Sixers fans on this blog that insisted the Horford signing was marvelous.

I think Brett Brown survives the season, but if they are an easy 2nd round out, or worse, a 1st round victim, he is gone the day after the last loss of the year.

Al Horford "The Mistake", poor guy...but I remember he chose more money to sign with the 76ers with a chance to win championships. Thanks but no thanks, traitor!

Two days out from the NBA trade deadline, the New York Knicks have fired longtime team president Steve Mills, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Knicks owner James Dolan remains hopeful he can lure Masai Ujiri, who is under contract in the same position with the Toronto Raptors through 2021, to oversee basketball operations, according to Wojnarowski.

Knicks GM Steve Perry is expected to remain in his role for the time being.

Everything Masai touches turns to gold, it seems, but I doubt he's leaving TOR anytime soon.

You can't have Danny either, NY. He's OURS.

That was long overdue IMO. Teflon Steve stuck around entirely too long. Though he could have done it sooner.

A logical reason for the timing is that there is a deal in the works and Mills wouldn't pull the trigger.  Let's see over the next 2 days if I'm right.

you and i feel the same, i was watching the Jump show and the talking heads were clamoring for this to happen ? ??? like it was dreamcome true ???Whut?  as if NY needs more help....   All the media talks about now is LA and NY or CA teams isn't enough ....rest of professional sports barely exsist outside their perspective cities or state going by national media.

If anybody gets something nice the big markets just feed off the small ones.

I hope he stays in Toronto.   Im sure NY will offer double his money .  I think Toronto needs to step up and triple it then .
