Damian Lillard is on an unbelievable tear right now. Keeps getting insane amounts of points.
On great efficiency too, although the most important thing is that he's scoring from all three levels without going full Harden (he incorporates some off ball movement in his scoring and doesn't dominate the ball).
Yeah, for sure. He’s a stud. IIRC he’s the first guy ever to put up a 6 game streak of averaging 45+ PPG and 10+ APG
Absolutely, but the nice thing is that it isn't just from increased usage and volume.

Do you think it's very likely that the Lakers will win championship this year for Kobe?
There were probably a # of players around the league who knew Kobe better than anyone on the Lakers.

Can't see that being a factor.

Lakers ain't winning nothing they are not good enough to win a championship yet, the trade deadline might change that though.
I went to the Celtics/Lakers game.  LAL is just not that good unless AD is outstanding.  Without that, they look like every other LeBron team that didn't win.

KAT has lost the last 15 games he has played. Timberwolves (15-33) are also on an 11-game losing streak.

So as things stand, we're tied with Miami for the #3 seed, and both of us are 2.5-3 games ahead of both IND/PHI.

Just unfortunate Toronto has also gone on a 10-game winning streak, which keeps them 1.5 games ahead of us for #2.

One glaring thing I notice is that Miami (21-3) and PHI (22-2) are red hot at home, but on the road MIA is just 12-12 and the Sixers are an abysmal 9-17. Home court could really matter for those teams in particular (though of course, everyone would prefer home court advantage)

Mark my words - we are going to be talking about Zion Williamson in the same vein as Luka Doncic maybe a year or so from now...

Let him get better defensively...he's already shown flashes on THAT end, alone.

Offensively? Don't think there are MANY that can handle him down low RIGHT NOW...just ask PJ Tucker (a strong, physical player in his OWN right).....

Let him develop his outside shot, too...

And we can't say that he is overpowering folks with his size...granted he IS doing that BUT if he was 30-40 pounds lighter he'd STILL be dominating...he's talented AND smart..

NOP is a better team with him on the floor...this is evident to ME, at least...

Just an amazing talent...give him time to learn the game...about a year or two.

So glad that he's got a quality coach AND GM there in NOP...they are building a strong team.

I never make predictions re: Lakers — always just hope they go one more year without a championship.  Of course, every few years they stock up with 2 or 3 top 10 players while most teams have zero and a handful of teams have one.  That’s the way it goes.

But I honestly don’t really believe that a team wins one for a deceased player.  Not that this can’t be inspiring, but in the NBA playoffs  teams find their own inspiration.  No one is going to lighten up so the Lakers can have a fitting tribute to Kobe.  And the Lakers can only play as well as they are capable.  Lebron is still a beast but he’s 35 and will have logged a lot of emotional and physical miles this year by the time they get to the finals (if they get there). I couldn’t feel worse for the Bryant family and Vanessa’s family — but I’ll hope as always for a Lakers loss.

The Pelicans have really looked fantastic over the last 2-3 weeks. Even some of their losses are hard fought, close ones to teams like the Clippers and Rockets. They can absolutely make a run at the #8 seed. And no question Zion will be special in this league.

Sixers getting absolutely thrashed by the Heat tonight on the road. Next is another road game, against MIL.

I thought they were one of the two best teams in the East going into the season, but man they are really looking like a 5-6 seed. About to fall to 9-18 on the road.

Also in this game, Tobias Harris with 6 points in 25 minutes. Jimmy Butler? 38/7 in 29 minutes

Brown has gotta be on the hot-seat, right?

Maybe Embiid / Simmons on the block too?

Brown is 100% getting fired soon.

And I still maintain my prediction that, IF the Sixers don't reach the ECF this season, they are making a big trade (meaning 1 of Embiid/Simmons). Curious to see who they decide to keep and build around if it comes to that.

Smart to keep Embiid and deal away Simmons. He's clearly the better player on that team.

Maybe, but Embiid has a far greater injury risk and honestly, it seems like there are stretches where he just doesn't care. PHI actually seems to play better with Simmons on the court and Embiid out (though yes, Simmons is obviously flawed himself).
