Doncic could miss 2 weeks.  Should make wed easier but I would rather try to beat them at full strength.
I never understand this opinion. You play who is there. If an opposition's star gets hurt and it's to the Celtics' advantage, great. I don't wish injury on anyone, but if it happens and benefits the Celtics, I am okay with beating the opposition without their star.

I am sure Raptors fans didn't cry over Durant getting hurt in the Finals. And that the 2010 Lakers were upset they didn't beat the Celtics with a healthy Perkins.

To me its pretty simple, this is an entertainment product. I will be more entertained if Doncic plays, hence him not paying is disappointing.
I am more entertained when the Celtics win. If Doncic not being there helps the Celtics win, I am actually more entertained with him sitting than him playing and the Celtics losing.

If I want to be entertained by Doncic, I will watch him play a different game and team.

Well to each his own, personally watching the Celtics beat up a bad team and winning is fun, but I'd rather they play a good game against a good team and let the chips fall where they may. To me, a win doesn't mean much if you're doing it against a depleted or talentless squad.

Right now -- especially with Smart out, Hayward reintegrating and the center position depleted a bit, I want a C's win more than anything.  When the C's are a "Tier 1" team I'll be more interested in them beating the best any team has to offer. But right now wins will make a huge difference in HCA which will matter a lot this year. So of course I don't wish injury, but am good with the advantage it provides.

This is why our game against them is no cake walk.. Mavs can beat any team and with the Cs not having the most luck with the refs lately.. Recipe for a loss.

Another solid game by Melo for POR's win in PHX....they've played I think 16 games on the road so far and 27 total.

Their record will be a lot better towards the end of the season.

As for MIL I'd rather they lose tonight to DAL than get their streak snapped by LAL....at least now they can reset and start ANOTHER winning streak vs LAL.

And glad to see IT4 doing his thing in WAS...nice road win for them.

yeah Portland should end up the 7th seed and probably pretty easily as I think they are clearly better than Oklahoma City, Sacramento, and Phoenix the 3 teams ahead of them for that 7th spot.  They might even be able to catch Dallas, especially if Doncic misses a bunch of time and is otherwise limited (win against Milwaukee notwithstanding I don't think Dallas maintains this level of play without Luka).  I don't think anyone behind Portland moves ahead of them either unless Steph comes back very soon and acts like a man on a mission just bombing 3's from everywhere.

Portland really hasn't been playing better the last few weeks, about the same. They can easily make the playoffs, but I think this is just who they are. (Collins/Nurkic maybe can give them a late push?)

Now who they are could end up being the 7th seed, as under .500 looks to be the bar for the 7/8.

They are 6-4 in their last 10 (they were 5-12 before that).  Now that last 10 was only 4 on the road and the only .500 or better teams they played were the Clippers, Lakers, and Nuggets, so it just might be an ease up on the schedule and not them actually playing better.

Their point differential the last two weeks is actually worse than their overall point differential per cleaning the glass. (filters out garbage time)

They have gotten blown out multiple times during this 6-4 stretch. And they don't get anymore games versus the Bulls.

They aren't climbing anywhere if they go around .500 against bad teams and get blown out by all the good ones.

Last 10 they are 6-1 against bad teams and 0-3 against good ones.  Their next 4 games are all at home and all 4 teams are below .500 with Orlando being the best of the group.  They are then at the Jazz and have home games with the Lakers and Suns.  They then have an East Coast road trip with the only good teams being the Heat and Raptors.  So they could fairly reasonably go 8-4 over their next 12 though 7-5 is probably more likely.  They do that and they probably get into a playoff spot.

Lakers didn't have Anthony Davis but the game was still close.

Malcolm Brogdon, man! Down the stretch.

I wanted him here, to the point that I said we should max him out. I'm very happy we have Kemba Walker, but man, I just love Malcolm Brogdon's game.

Celtic killer!

Bucks really made a mistake by choosing Bledsoe over Brogdon.
